This is so **** cool
This is so **** cool
It's pretty awesome, yeah. We had a few threads on it already, one of them has a link to a pdf full of his dossiers on the main pilots and stuff. The guy put a lot of work into it, that's for sure. ![]()
It is very good but i think it got posted up at least four times about a week or so ago ![]()
It's animated well, but **** I really hate the music used. I understand why it was used but boy do I hate it.
Likewise.
I'm a guitarist but i hate that style of playing. I've just never been into 'fretnoodling' ![]()
I've always found that the only people *really* impressed or interested in guitar solos are other guitarists.
Most people dont really rate them ![]()

Same here, and I loooooooove my rock and metal, lord knows I can't ever get enough Ozzy.
But waddaladoodliwooliwaahing just doesn't have a place in Star Wars.

I hear you... Glenn Miller's 'In the mood' would have been a far better choice ![]()
Personally i'd have backed that short TIE movie with some cyber industrial or industrial metal but thats personal taste.
Anything other than a john williams type score would be subjective
But to me sci fi, especially 'used future' sci fi fits well with dystopian electronic music like ebm/cyber/industrial
Bands like frontline assembly, VNV nations, skinny puppy, Die Krupps, Suicide Commando, Front 242 etc
Like frontline assemblys 'mindphaser' video used footage from japanese gundamn movies. its not their best track and its well dated now but sort of illustrates the visual/audio synergy im on about.

I don't. The KotOR music in the original worked so much better.

Yeah, it really did.
Wings of steel by Triarii would have been good but i liked the music from the original clip which was a piece from Knights of the old republic
it fit really well
Wings of steel. its one of those things that is always on my playlist while designing 'enemy' ships (Imperial, Romulan, Gorgol etc)

There wasn't any KotOR music (or audio for that matter) in the WIP version. Somebody slapped audio onto it and put the unfinished thing up on youtube a few years ago, and I know the artist was pretty unhappy with that.

I can't disagree enough.
Tie fighters blowing the snot out of rebel scum to the tune of metal guitars, hells yeah give me more!!
My only complaint is I want more
We already have 2 posts about the Tie Fighter Wars.
Don't get me wrong, it is a great film on YouTube and a great intro video to watch before playing X-wing or Armada. But it has been discussed already.

Ah.
Well, unhappy or not, it felt right.
When I watched this video, it recalled to me one of Shakespeare's greatest masterpieces, The Tragedy of Macbeth. Or, more specifically, a single line from Macbeth: "Full of sound and fury. Signifying nothing."

I hope you weren't being sarcastic, because this would be awesome. Maybe follow up with Little brown jug or Don't sit under the apple tree.
The video is cool, but a little too lopsided to be a very interesting battle. When you're watching and knowing with absolute certainty that nothing bad will happen to the imperials, it kinda takes the intensity out of it. War isn't scary when you're immune to it.
I totally dig the music. But I love heavy guitar riffs. I blame the Dragonball Z theme from when I was 12 years old.

Those too are excellent choices! Altough I would choose Mingus' 'moaning' as runner up ![]()

I dunno, as a kid watching Empire strikes Back always made me go 'arrgh' when Han was caught even though i knew he'd be back in a few years in ROTJ
Harrison Ford actually wanted Han Solo to die for exactly the reason you state, to make the rebellion less bulletproof.
The short film tie battle is only the flipside of everything we see in the original trilogy where the rebels have amazingly lucky breaks, always escape the empire (eventually) and defeat a galactic dictatorship (sorry benevolent state) with teddy bears

It was only a Nebulon, a few CRs and Transports followed by maybe a score of Rebel fighters. Of course 2 ISDs and that Interdictor are gonna slaughter the Rebel fleet.
Now, a full-on battle with a couple of Mon Cals and a couple of Star Destroyers each with their suite of picket cruisers and fighter wings would make an interesting animated film.
