Do you have to do something in the city space or can you choose to do nothing? Also, can you choose to visit more than one person? Like can I visit the Doctor and the Enchantress in the same turn.

You must visit one and only one. And it has to be a legal visit. So Doctor only if you can heal (have Gold and are not at starting Lives), Alchemist if you can turn something into Gold (so need 1 Object and if you visit, you have to turn it into Gold). If neither of other two options are available, then it's off to the Enchantress with you. Which is my #1 reason for avoiding the City in that case, always has, always will be.

Enchantress is only good if you have starting statistics. Then you lose nothing if you have roll a 2 or a 3.
Off course, you need fate too;)
After you have boost yourself up a little, then you have nothing to do anymore at the enchantress.

And if you roll a 1
... ? Around here, that would be an open invitation for a free-for-all, to see how many Lives can be taken from the Toad before s/he revers back to normal. Especially if that char was a high on the power charts. Easier to kill 'em early.

If you roll a 1 then you have bad luck, but you have fate you know..
Off course, if you roll a 1 twice, then there is nothing to do about it...
But it is worth the try !
