I quite liked the 3rd's version of the toll bridge, where you have to pay 1g to cross, instead of fighting the sentinel. Perhaps there could be a house rule to pay him 2g instead of fighting. At least that would be something else to spend the money on. It sounds like they really should give us more to do with our cash in the revised 4th edition, with no toll bridge and no breakable weapons.
Perhaps more house rules would help, such as being able to pay the jester or hag 3g to leave you alone.

Maybe that FFG can make a toll bridge card in the future
The fun part is that the creature at the toll bridge in 3th is the reaper himself
he looks like one at least..
But i agree that FFG must find a way so that you have more choices to spend your cash on.
It would be nice if you can buy new stuff like potions, spells, new weapons etc( it would be good if those options are included in the city expansion..) a wide selection of stuff to buy..
But i have no problems with the gold. I can always use it for something..
Yay!! Just had a call from my wife to say Talisman revised 4th edition has been delivered!! I can't wait to get home now- I think I will start to feel ill this afternoon so I may have to leave work early

Luckily you have the reaper expansion, so it can't be boring

Actually, the Reaper pack hasn't arrived yet- that one is still in the post. Hopefully it should arrive any day now- maybe even today. I hope it will bring a lot more enemies to fight. That's the one criticism I would say is the worst with the 3rd edition- you just don't come across enough enemies! That also makes the game last even longer because it takes longer to level up you character. Looking at the base pack of this revised 4th, it may suffer the same issue until the Reaper pack adds to it.
You know what would be really good? Having a seperate adventure pack each for outer and middle regions. That way you are sure to face tougher enemies once you cross the bridge.

Don't worry, the reaper has the cards that must be added to the game !
When i only bought the 4th revised edition, i was not satisfied with it, but everything has changed when the reaper came !

There are enough enemies, but you need the expansions to fight more enemies.
I have no problems with that !

Thanks for the link. I am glad to see some favourite 3rd edition cards making a return in the Reaper pack, such as the genie, staff of mastery, etc. as well as seeing all those lovely monsters and spirits.

Did you see that some cards have changed...
The Genie for example... has not only 1 spell but 3 spells !

I haven't opened the packs of cards in the Reaper pack yet, as I am not sure if I have to send it back or not, due to a missing miniature. I really wanted to use the expansion cards too
Really disappointed in their seeming lack of attention when packing the right miniatures.
