It was time to make decisions and to take actions:

- I cancelled my pre-order on Amazon UK

- I placed an order to Noble Knight Games (in the US): I'll received it (with the Art of Warhammer 40,000 + The Face of Battle at the fairest price ever).

- It's already shipping and will receive my Emperor's mana between 6 and 10 days.

Can't speak highly enough about Aaron and his crew and NKG - great people to deal with.

Thanks for the tip on noble knights. Will cancel my amazon US order.

Has just arrived...no time to read it as yet, but can't wait 'til I do!

The biscuit god, perhaps ? (Sorry, it's Black Library's latest antics)

What the heck is wrong with Amazon on DH books? They take preorders and either cancel them, or only get the books in months late.

I don't know - as a rule, I only order RPGs from Amazon that are listed in stock; just order a couple of DH titles this evening. I think the only time I'd ever consider a pre-order might be for a WotC book.

don't even give that a try: I'm still waiting for my Scum & Villainy...

Point taken...

The only problem Ive ever had with Amazon was ordering Dark Heresy books.

For those in the UK looking for a good deal and service I have never had a problem with; look up Gameslore www.gameslore.com/index.html £27.99 + postage.

I'm putting in a second recommendation for Gameslore too.

I've used them on many occasions and never had a problem.

I'll third that (and they are a friendly bunch as well).

Unfortunately pre-ordered mine through Leisure Games (another friendly and helpful bunch) and they have not told me its on its way yetllorando.gif

It's ironic I pre-ordered every warhammer fantasy book via Amazon, and got them around the same time they were in stores. If it wasn't for the price, free 2 day shipping, and regular gift certs my work hands out I'd have given up. I order other rpg books every so often and I've never had an issue.

Does anyone know what the issue is with Amazon (specifically Amazon UK in my case) and Dark Heresy products?

I'm am reluctant to point the figure at Amazon as I have to say that as a regualr customer of theirs over a number of years I have had hardly any problems and then out of the blue Dark Heresy products seem to be very hard to get from them.

I am fairly happy to sit on my order as the price reduction is approximately 30% but I can't help think that perhaps FFG drop them to the bottom of their distribution list priority...perhaps because of their discounting? Pure speculation but there has got to be something behind it.

Just got an email from Amazon UK:

"Fantasy Flight Games "Disciples of the Dark Gods" [Hardcover]Estimated arrival date: 06/01/09 - 16/01/09"

So... better late than never, eh?

Well they managed to post mine and it's arrived...I just hope it doesn't mean they've run out!

re: Amazon and Dark Heresy...well I pre-ordered the original rulebook from Amazon and they sent it out pronto exactly on the relase date (I wasn't even in the country) however PtU and tIH I ended up getting from a LFGS in Oxford who had it on the release date and were easy to communicate with!

Amazon France is worse on that matter, it doesn't even show DotDG available and at the look of it, mightn't even ship near soon.

Still waiting for mine. Maybe tomorrow.

Cutting it close to Christmas.

Brought mine from my LGS on wednesday i think.

Well for those keep score at home:

Barnes and Noble now lists it as shipping within 24 hours while Amazon US has finally changed from pre-order to shipping in 9 to 12 days.

Happy Holidays.

I just gotta know: what company gives out Amazon gift certs and how do I get hired?

I finally got mine the other night. I did also procure my copy from the local hobby store, I might add. Yes, I do feel good about supporting both my local retailer and Fantasy Flight with my purchase. If you haven’t noticed, I’m feeling a bit snooty about it, too. All kidding a side the book is great. As per suggestions I would look at the Halo Device stuff, the chapter on Solomon Beast, and definitely the bit on Internal Threats or whatever is at the end.

I don't suppose DotDG has anything in it about the Hetaireia Lexis?

I`ll tell you when I get it, which will be... have no friggin` clue! My phone isn`t ringing, which means no-one in the other end is asking me "what address do you want this shipped to"?

Curses... My nerves are getting to me...

Well, I picked up my copy on saturday from Travelling Man Newcastle (UK, for anyone on the East Coast US who may be confused). Fun side note: I was served by Regan Von Doom- an awesome name.

I haven't noticed anything about the Hetairea Lexis, but unless it's in the adventure I don't think it's there. Of course, I haven't had a chance to properly scrutinise it yet, thanks to RL issues.

I did, however see what's possibly the best potential missprint for ages- a sidebar in the Menagarie section in Malleus noted a servitor was corrupted by the data it was receiving/processing, resulting in 8 causalities, 5 fatalities. I know it probably should be casualties, but the idea of the random chaotic data causing multiple causalities is just too awesome to ignore...

So, FFG, if that ain't what you wanted, please don't fix it- the error is far cooler.
