So, with that said...

...who will you be playing once the Tekken set officially drops?

I can see myself playing a handful of characters overall...Cervantes, Omar, Tira, Hilde, Nightmare, Christie, and King. POSSIBLY even Paul.

I'd play Rashotep, but our scout's already bagsied him =(

Chaos and Earth seem to be my symbols of choice, although I like Air Tira, and Nightmate off of literally anything is fscking insane.

And I'd obviously only play Paul off of Order (as if you had to ask xD)

I love how more than half of what you named aren't Tekken characters. Almost as if a better question would have been, "who were you playing before that has more/better cards to choose from now?? lol.

For the record, I hate that Paul is a decent card as I DESPISE that dumb character. If it were anyone else, I'd consider playing it. I also refuse to play ShadoWar characters. That being said, in the new standard I'd be most likely to rock Ivy, Promo Jin, Nina, Algol, Hilde, Tira, and the barely -less-lame-than-Paul-but-a-good-card-nonetheless King in that order.

Seigfried, King if I pull him and Zhao. There is to much momentum jacking for me to thing about Yi Shan anymore. He need something that stops enemy momentum drain. Zhao i going to start punking people. Just you watch. While Paul may be the stun king he has nothing grey side to back that up. Zhao does on the other hand. With a lot of support from death to boost her when stuff blows up (Yimfrang, G-Corp leader, master of magic, All life, Dark Bite) we are in for an interesting block. I'm staying away from Paul because he looks way to easy and broke to use. Torn Hero is nice but he eventually is going to stun past it. He doesn't need his rares to shine. That's what is going to make him come out of the woodwork in most places. Add in the damage pumps for fire that is out there and he will rock people hard. Laughable might actually be one of the best cards to have against him.

I think a lot of people look at King and only think throws. I think that is a poor decession. There are other things that help him out. While throws may be his bread and butter I see him pulling out some other attacks to get some more elements of control. We may see King being played 2 ways. The first is agressive throwfest. The second is lockdown King. Look at Rash foundation goodness. Also look at Seigfrieds stun and destruction retailation cards. Add in the fact you can play no forgiveness. King is going to make players hurt bad. No forgiveness will have to be a staple for him to protect his throws. Bracers of horus and set, strength of the ages, Ka technique, so on and so forth the deck almost builds itself.

My only concern is how powerful All LIFE IS PREY is in the new format. So many things blow up and it is easy to get off an added 3-4 damage in a turn. It is a must have card if you have the symbols. Sadly I don't want to see that type of thing creep back into UFS.

-Tekken only has six characters, three of whom I'd play, and an iffie fourth xD
-Paul turns cards sideways, and we know how much I love doing that; that and the scales are my only reasons for playing him =/
-Isn't it always the case? Imagine how easily I could bust the crap out of old decks with some of these cards. I already miss iSpin, Experienced Combatant, and Psycho Style =(

Block 4 is proof positive that James and Steve are out to get ME personally by making Order horrible. /wrists

I'm suprised there is no All life is prey concerns.

The art is proof-positive that someone's out to get me too, haha. Also, unless you're counting announced promos, I only count 5 characters in the Tekken set. Right?

Also, I don't remember your knack for turning cards sideways as i haven't played against you in ages (you played K' last time we squared off, I believe).

I quite like Yi Shan actually, but I don't know if I'll be able to manage him in our local meta ^^

Hilde looks as nice as ever, I like Paul (Financial Troubles, For the Money... *shudders in glee*), Jin is a must ^^

Also like Nightmare, Ivy for a try (miss SM as I call her ^^ ), and could go with Algol.

As for symbols, Chaos, Life and Fire are the way to go for me :)

Kazuya.

Likely off Death.

Geeeeeeeeeese

Splash Fire in your Order decks, and in fact it might be worth cutting Cursed Blood (you only need to cut cursed blood) to make that Fire splash into the entire deck. :o

I'm making my Hilde deck progressively stupider. Now I'll be Paid to Protect :3. Still settling on an anti-Rashotep strategy, tho

Always a fun topic. I'm probably still going to run Algol, or at first see what I can update him with from the new stuff. There is a lot of All and Void, the latter was my foundation base for the most part, and it will be interesting to see what he evolves into. Chaos is also my attack base for him, or at least the most-chaining symbol, and therefore I might take some of the new chaos stuff on board too.

Christie is my favorite Tekken character, ok those are strong words, she is my main in 5 and I'll probably start out with her when 6 hits. I'd be missing part of the point of UFS if I didn't at least build her. I'd probably build her loop first, but I think her strongest build is a bit off that, i.e. she needs a few more counter control elements to shine - I'll probably begin collecting but won't do a serious build for her until later.

I've always 'not liked' Paul as a Tekken character. That said, I love his UFS cards.

Nina speaks to me, I will build her. It will take some serious thought to get her style competitive though, and there will be some problem matchups for her.

I will build all of the champ cards, and religiously. Why? Becuase the champs will undoubtedly run themselves at the big tournies next block, everyone wants to win with themselves... AND, the best way to beat a card is to know it inside and out, we will all need to be well versed in their tricks and weaknesses.

I've been waiting for Nightmare to get a bit more help. So ya after seeing tekken, i'll be running death nightmare. So many dumb cards to abuse with him that there has to be a solid deck in there somewhere. If done correctly I think he has so many freakin' ways to gain advantage over the opposition and keep opponents from ever getting set up. I've got lots of testing to do to see if it's worth it.

Tekken forces, master of magic, Need to destroy- all help to give me resources to blow up and gain staging area advantage.

Evil intentions, nightmare, intimifating presence, hunger for souls... yep, plenty of ways to blow stuff up

All life is prey-rewards me for all my efforts.

Rashotep and Paul, and maybe Ragnar. I like Nina's ability and some of her cards but overall she seems pretty meh.

Paul is the greatest fighter ever hell yea im gonna play him when the set releases!

Fire Astrid, Death Padma, Tri-symbol Nightmare, Fire/All Paul, EARF King(some of his support doesn't have void :( ). Mmmm.

Ron: Jin. And I thought everyone knew how much I love board control via commit power/iSpin =(

Waffle: I hate Fire as a symbol in general. Shelby made sure of that xD Tbh, I'm thinking of a different strategy entirely. I shalt PM thee about it forthwith for your thoughts. Personally, I find ridiculous advantage rather amusing :3

hilde. i have thought hilde was busted ever since i got her in my first box of tower of souls. she is the best agro char in block 4. i will probably play every character at one point or another because that is my style. cassie looks hot, and so does jin.

With Christie being the only character out I'm good with in Tekken, i'm obligated to at least try and make her competitive. Other than that, I want to make a Nina soft lock deck. If only I could get back Cold and indfferent and/or proficient sniper...V_V

Christie first.

Then I'll scap her and insert said scraps into my current Ivy lol

Awesomely thanks to the rotation, I can actually care about building that Lu Chen, or actually running that Algol with better results that don't involve being shut down by a single Bitter Rivals.

(I know it was banned but I scrapped the deck loooong ago)

1. Astrid, no question about it :)

2.King/Ragnar/Rashotep (can't really decide who I like most here..)

3. Paul Phoenix.

1) Earth Siegfried, attack base may change significantly depending on whether Nina's support sees a lot of play

2) Dariya, either Air or All, not sure which yet. May need to get more copies of her in matches against Kazuya.

3) Who knows???

Nina at the moment.

Been running **Zi Mei off Fire, utilizing PotM + All LIfe is Prey + Fury of the Ancients to straight up murder opponents. Will probably continue using her, too, as she is still my only true 5-point deck built at the moment.

After tomorrow tho... Christie All-Loops Are Us and Jin Kazama with Knight Breaker looks pretty beastly! Seriously tho...i'm super glad they at least included some of Law's attacks in with Paul's support...perhaps we will run into Law later as a Promo Character??

That Law punch is another reason I'm pissed Balrog got rotated. Sigh.

Stickin with Rasho for now, but definitely looking into Death Jin Kazama.

Yi Shan** off Life . I'm probably the only guy who can say this, but he has to be one of my favorite character designs, ever. I've tried running him off Earth , but Robes and Drossel are just too useful, because he doesn't have any throws in his support.

As for a Tekken 6 character, I'm gonna go with (the) King* off Earth . He's my favorite character in the game (still learning to use him properly, though), he runs off one of my 3 favorite symbols (the other 2 being Good and Life ), and using one of my favorite strategies (I was a wrestler IRL, so throw spamming holds a special place in my heart). So as dutpotd said, I'd be missing part of the point of UFS if I DIDN'T run King* .
