Having a speed 2 movement tool is incredibly helpful... To the point that you are crazy if you don't get one. It saves you so much removal and replacement of fighters. (If you don't have one it is almost worthwhile to just use a cardboard token)

Also being able to play 300 point games now with a full dice set is quite nice.

Where are you all getting this 400pt thing from? Did I miss an errata? Wasn't a full game at 300pts?

180 points is recommended if all you have is the Core set. Once wave 1 comes out, the tournament value will be 300, when wave 2 comes out they're going to bump it up to 400.

I preordered my 1st core. On a saturday afternoon after finding out that the parcel wont come for that weekend due to yet another post strike we got mad and drove cross country to pick up some googled copy in some bar in a 50 people village somewhere. The roadtrip was nice. On monday the 2nd already payed core came and i had to go through all the letter mess of sending it back, but did.

currently im thinking if i should add another GSD and AF as well as 1 squad pack each to the ordered one of each approach so far to give the imps some more movement and the rebells some more staying power. i think just one GSD with 2 VSDs might still just be immobile and the same for the rebells.

Ohhhhh. had everything but the tourney PDF...interesting. Any speculation on it bumping up to 500 and settling on a nice 600 eventually? (thus making the 1/3rd points for squads easy?)

I'm betting it wont go up by any more. They've probably planned around the 400 point total, but wanted to make things easier on folks with the new releases and the slightly higher price point of the game.

Only problem I see is that you're only picking up 1 extra Nebulon B.

Maybe but I am not a huge fan of the Neb's. I personally think the rebels best ships will be the CR90 and the MC30c's
