Mechanicvm, armour and implants

By Eisenhorn_Puritus, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Hi there. I've one "question" (If it's that) about the Mechanicvs career progress. It seems me strange that a Servitor has Machine Trait (4) (With the AP that it gives), and a high-upgraded Techpriest (Like rank 6th or 7th) hasn't. It's valid too for high-augmented characters.

¿There is any rule about it in the Corebook that I haven't seen? ¿Do you have any? ¿there is already a Topic about it that I haven't seen xD?

(Sorry of my poor english, It is really difficult to me writing this)

Tech priests are still mostly organic(alive), while servitors are mostly mechanical in nature. the machine trait defers some to that sort of logic.

Also remember that the core book does not cover everything.

It's not really the mechanics that differs a servitor from a techpriest, but rather the state of their brains. A servitor is basically a lobotomized human puppet, slaved to a cogitator engine and follows it's programmed orders without an resistance. A techpriest on the other hand still has his/her free will more or less intact. However certain parts of a techpriests brain might make him/her enhanced, andd because of that they seem less human, they're still a far cry from servitors due to their relative free will.

The Tech-Priest has a very cheap Toughness upgrade cost, and this reflects his continuous replacement/enhancing of his flesh with steel and other metals.

Different mechanic (AP v T) but same (almost) effect. Better for Tech-Priests, as their T will not be negated by Penetration

I would suggest it as representing the type of damage control a machine has and much harder it is to critically damage it enough to incur health damage.
