No.

The alternate careers replace a specific level. You can either replace Rank 1 with Gunslinger OR Reclimator not both. If you have a very nice GM he might allow rank 1 Gunslinger rank 2 Reclimator but in all honesty it would be foolish to do so. You no longer have access, except as elite advances, to any skill or trait on the replaced levels. Also you are going to spend a lot of XP on Gunslinger or Reclimator before returning to scum anyways.

Both replace "Rank 1 or higher," so you can actually take them at any rank you please as long as you meet their requirements.

Er, to clarify, you still need to replace two ranks with them, so at best you can take one of them at rank one and the other at rank 2.

What I meant was that most people will tend to linger for quite a while in one of those rank lists before moving on. I built a Gunslinger and I think I went 3 ranks before looking outside of the Gunslinger list. Both of those classes have a lot to choose from and to distract you from other things.

Taking both of those classes could make for an interesting character but would ultimately leave you a bit spread out.
