First Imperial squad

By Rain King, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

I've only played two games of skirmish mode and both were as Rebels. I just put together this squad for my first match as Imperials tonight and wanted some opinions on the squad as a whole and any advice on playing the individual units. I have one copy of the core set and one each of the expansions. Thanks.

Squad - 40 points

Royal Guard Champion (15)

Elite Imperial Officer (5)

Royal Guard (8)

Stormtrooper (6)

Stormtrooper (6)

Command Deck (12pts)

Urgency (0)

Rally (0)

Take Initiative (0)

Expose Weakness (0)

Take Cover (0)

Celebration (0)

Element of Surprise (0)

New Orders (3)

Hold Ground (2)

Pummel x2 (2)

Flurry of Blades (2)

Strength in Numbers (1)

Marksman x2 (2)

My first mistake using troopers is don't end a activation with the troopers standing adjacent to each other. Blast is devastating. Move in fire and move out.

Reinforcements could be good cards with two squads of grey stormtroopers, they die quite easily. Royal guards helps too, they are very good at helping others survive, keep them close to stormtroopers.

Maybe drop the Elite Officer for a pair of gray Officers? It gives you more actions per turn and makes the Royal Guards + Champ super mobile and able to take objectives. Plus, when they die they activate the Vengeance and Executor abilities.

I would swap a stormtrooper group for 3 reg officers instead of elite officer. That Elite is amazing paired up with RGC.

I was thinking the same thing after the game. I will do this.
