Very nice work mate.

You must have a very steady hand.

Superb painting! Could you please give us a rundown on how you did it?

Thanks!

You must have a very steady hand.

Or patience :)

colors: vellejo 72.051 black; 72.049 stonewall grey

i did cut q-tips in the middle and widened the opening with a fork so that you can stick each model into one half q-tip. i prepared a piece of cardboard with little slit cuts in it so i can clamp the q-tips in for drying.

primed in black with little bit watered down color so that it keeps the texture of the model. repeat once because it doesnt fully cover/doesnt result in solid color if watered down.

coarse drybrush the middle parts with the grey. even if the window outlines look precise this step is not about precicion at all. you just dry brush over the whole thing with the "right" degree of color dryness.

the inner parts of the wings will get dirty by the drybrushing so cover them again with thined black.

the outer 6 lines on each wings stand of, you can paint them without touching the black parts if you hold the brush very parallel to the wing surface. allways draw the brush towards you, not sideways. use a little bit watered down color. find a good compromise between the color beeing near solid and been well paintable. i usualy dip the brush in water and then mix it with a bit of the color drop on the palette. you will get a feeling for which consistence is good for you. consistence of the color is the key point in almost all steps i think. same process with the outline of each wing.

the inner 6 lines on each wing are the annoying parts, draw from center to yourself. some will get to thick.

get out the black again and correct errors.

get out the grey again and correct errors.
