Culture and fun in an Arkhamite's life

By Julia, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

And after some culture delivered to the masses (see reply 17, thanks Steve!), now it's the moment of the QUIZZZ!!! Or, better, a Scientific Experiment at the Science Building!

Question: how many thread will be able to open our little spammer friends over the w-end?

The rules

Feel free to guess! The guy whose guessing is closest to the real number of new threads will enjoy the pleasures of a week "everything included" at the Gilman House Hotel! Meet in person your favorite sushi! Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of an Invaded Innsmouth! Get a free bkini-wax and enter the beauty contest at Innsmouth Shore! Join our family, you'll never be the same again!

Disclaimer

Since the prize is so wonderful, we need extremely reliable judges. So, Tibs and Joe volunteered sacrificing their email accounts in order to verify the numbers thanks to the new and improved "spam the forum notification system", and Jason is already developing some few thousand lines of code able to count each new threads open on this very board (totals updated every 5 femtoseconds)

So, let's go! Who's in?

517

5000

Let me guess, second place wins TWO weeks at the Gilman House Hotel...

And since I'm judging, unfortunately I won't be able to enter. Good luck to the "winners". :)

Well OK first of all they all went to my gmail trash, like, immediately. Thank god I already had created a label for FFG threads.

Second of all, I don't know when trash gets permanently emptied. I assume we're good for now.

Third of all, when I search for that tag in my trash I get back "0-100 of many." I gotta count pages on this one. Where's my bourbon?

Sigh. The total I'm seeing in my trash isn't as high as the number I cited Julia recently. I guess some got away. Still, feel free to ballpark how many you think there were.

Oh that's easy, I'll only send 3412. I mean, they! They will only send 3412!

F'nath rg'hlia gr'rnua!

*Vanishes in puff of brine-smelling smoke*

Yup, they just keep pouring in...

Ok, the attack has begun!

The End is Nigh!

*eating pop-corns and wearing sunglasses*

Ohmanohmanohman this is so exciting! I can't wait to get that bikini-wax! (Really need it too, I could probably hide a shoggoth in there (TMI?))!

I'm going with 900

believe it or not therabidbanana you're not even close...what's worse, Borealian isn't close either. :P I'm on my third e-mail account capturing them all. Julia, pass the whisky...

Is it... over 9000? I feel a mashup coming on:

"Kate, what's the flux stabilizer say about the ancient one's power level?"

Whaaaaaat!? But I really wanted to meet an avocado sushi and become friends. You can pass along the whisky over here as well.

Whisky for everyone..."No One Can Help You Now"

lol I think I was way off. I just wrote the number of my last email spam, forgetting that I stopped it in the morning... dear god.

There was one spam post this morning. What was weird was that it was only one .

They run out of ammo?

They're just messing with us! Trying to make us hope, only to dash them when we least expect it!

Now that we're on it, I wonder who posts these things? I suspect it's some automated process, but it could very well be a person who sits down with a cup of coffee and says, "welp, time to get to work; I'm on the clock." Like, that's their job they're paid to do.

Sorry, I was out for the weekend (had an awesome time with a couple of friends coming to visit us from the US! Went to Venice, and had some extreme pizza night in between), who's the winner?

Shoggothed by their own spam?

"Shoggothed" is about the filthiest sounding verb I've ever heard...

I figure the competition is not over until we can go a few days without sign of spam.

True. There was a mom involved in being shoggothed, some time ago. Still, afraid of any details
