who can help me survive with the big boys?

By bmwrider, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I am trying to put a SCUM list together for each faction that is user friendly and will help me keep up with the players at the store.

My plan is to focus on just 1 list per faction so I can improve my game and survive with more experienced players.

Any help would be appreciated.

My available ships are in my signature.

super Kath (PTL, K4, EU) is (imo) scum's equal opportunity "f***er-upper" combining a little bit of every conceivable strength

1.) solid defensive profile (can be reinforced with native focus + evade)

2.) great action efficiency (free TL + PTL)

3.) decent mobility (same as a fattie)

4.) great offensive output (stacked target-lock + focus with a 3 dice innate; 4 dice out the back)

5.) secondary arc opens up dial for maneuvering purposes while not sacrificing offense, though not as much as a mindless turret

flying her should lead to very effective and relatively user friendly lists, whether it's with four Z-95s or another firespray

the only problem is that large bases with arcs aren't the most forgiving ships to fly :P

Scum list I've been using. Fishers of men:

Torkil mux ICT 24

Y ICT btl r4 25

Y ICT no btl unhinged 24

Z feedback 14

Z 12

5 ships. Tons of dmg tons of health. Ps1 Zs as blockers and cannon fodder. Torkil for high ps targets. 2 turrets. Fly as tight swarm. Careful that everyone is close enough to use R2.

Rebel: horny warthogs

Corran Vi r2d2 fcs

Y ICT btl

Y ICT

Z

Imperial:

Just try phantom 5 tie. It's very powerful.

Or

Rear admiral ysanne expose EI rc

Whisper vi acd fcs

99.

Alternatively for funzies:

Oicunn ysanne

Howlrunner

3 ap.

Try and have them focus oicunn at the start. CuZ howl is easier to kill. After that try and let oicunn live to end game. Should be pretty funny.

I like the Imperial builds I see listed.

Although I only need a scum build.

The Scum & Villainy list I'm playing around with is -

Emon Azzameen + Andrasta + Proximity Mine + Proximity Mine + Seismic Charges + Tactician

Palob Godalhi + Moldy Crow + Opportunist + Blaster Turret + Recon Specialist

Cartel Spacer + "Heavy Scyk" Interceptor + "Mangler" Cannon

Looking at your list you might not have enough Proximity Mines (I think you get one with the Firespray?) but you could easily swap one out for a second Seismic Charge and upgrade the Tactician to a Recon Specialist. Hopefully your opponent will concentrate on taking down either Palob or Emon leaving the other free. The Scyk is also a useful annoyance either darting around the edges of the board taking pot-shots or getting in the mix and blocking targets for Emon to bomb!

Ive tried to run that list (well one similar to it with 2 seismics and a proximity)...Emon really needs an EU. I tweaked it a bit by mainly dropping moldy crow title to get the EU. with Recon spec on Palob im still getting enough Foci to be in the fight and EMon can use the boost when needed to evade arcs and such

Funnily enough I had considered dropping the Seismic Charge and Tactician but not for Engine Upgrade. I'm thinking that a Recon Specialist (and Inertial Dampners with the left over point) on Emon might be better value - tanking up on the approach towards potential bomb targets. I do like Engine on large bases though. Hmm...
