Yeah, a lot of the stores around here have $5 entry fee OR buy a new X Wing Ship. It's great for new players because it gives them an excuse to buy more ships (I mean, they're essentially $10 then, right? It's like they're on sale!), it's good for the store because it moves product (and they probably make more than $5 on a blister anyways).
yeah its that OR 5 bucks... at least at the store in Columbia S.C,..
The stores in my area normally charge $10 with most of that coming back to the players in store credit.
