Nexu Pounce/Movement restrictions.

By Tenka, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Can I use a Nexu to pounce through a gap that it normally could not fit through?

And if I can't, how on earth is the red Nexu supposed to go anywhere on the Mission "Impounded" (Page 22 of the Core Campaign book)?

Nexu can pounce to any open space in 3(?,don't have card with me at work) squares. It's not a normal move so normal move limitations don't apply.

Thanks again man..

A situation came up last night where a player was attempting to get extra movement out of Pounce. He deliberately pounced to an empty square that had a hostile figure in it so that he could not fit, and then read the rule where if a figure cannot fit, the controlling player moves him to the closest available place.

That seems off, but is it legal?

No. Pretty certain Pounce says to move to empty spaces. If there is a hostile figure spaces are not empty.

Well, the contention was that it says to move to an empty space, does a space mean a square or four squares for the Nexu?

Nevermind, thank you.

When you pounce, you use the rule Counting Spaces. Count up to 3 spaces away from the Nexu (don't go through walls, doors, or blocking terrain). Once you have picked a space, place the Nexu in that space using the rules from Large Figures.

Also note that Nexu has the Mobile keyword. This allows the Nexu to enter spaces that contain blocking terrain. So the red Nexu in the Impounded mission is far from being stuck.

You count 3 spaces and deploy him there. The deployment restrictions are what apply, not the movement restrictions.
