Anyone else have this issue? Where the stand normal slots into the base, mine just don't slide together.
Victory bases not fitting securely?
Have you got the base/stand the right ways around, so that the stand can slot into the base? There is a right way and a wrong way.
Also make sure you put the cardboard ship token on. I found that made mine a lot more snug when putting mine together last night

I had trouble the first time I went to put it together, but I did as everyone is suggesting, and it fits perfectly now..

I couldn't get mine to lock in first try either. The ship tipped back with the bow pointing a bit at the sky because I hadn't slid the "fin" forward enough. I had to grab it down low on the "fin" near the locking part and push it a bit harder than I was comfortable with but I did get it to "lock" properly and have been able to remove and re-assemble it easily.
The "trick" is not pushing down to much but parrallel to the top of the base where the card sits.

Yeah, mine was a very tight fit in order to get it to slide across as well. Was a bit worried about damaging the card for a while, but all ok in the end!
The notch on the front of my Victory's stand was slightly too small to fit the base; although I could muscle it in it took an uncomfortable amount of force, just as you describe.
On closer inspection, the bottom lip of the stand was slightly miscast, and would flex downwards when the stand was inserted in the base because it was too thick to allow the base to fit normally. I was worried it might weaken and eventually break, so I carefully trimmed away a hair's width of the extra material, and it now fits fine without any problems at all.
