Hello everybody, while I was reading my copy of he Dark Heresy rulebook I stumbled across an interesting little situation involving Fire selectors. As they mention they can be used with any SP and Bolt basic and pistol weapons. I'm just wondering if anyone has found any problems or impraticality involving Stub Revolvers and fire selectors for three magazines.
Fire Selectors.
They're not so much impractical as unbalancing - several weapons are balanced only by their small clip size and the best reasons for using a lasgun or heavy stubber are the "What is that thing you call reloading?" moments when everyone else spends several actions reloading and you can just fire on.
My preferred fix is to allow only one clip worth of ammo, though that can be subdivided as the player wishes if he's got a fireselector. So you could load your autogun with 20 standard bullets and 10 manstopper rounds and use the fire selector to switch between the two.

All too true.. but the problem gets worse when you add in weapons with only one or 2 ammo (shotguns, underbarrel grenade launchers) or that dont use "clips" as we understand them (such as the cylinder on the stubrevolver as above).
But i havent yet found any player that actually likes using stub revolvers as almost every other weapon is better..
S.K.
Another main reason I asked using the Stub Revolver as the prime example. I personally have played a couple of small campaigns in which I had a character running around with a stub revolver. Not only that, the other main reason is part of my upcomming campaign that I am personally running. Is one of the main NPCs, a pit-fighter trainer, keeps a old stub revolver strapped to his leg. So to make it stand out a little more, tried seeing if anyone would think this was too odd.
