Combo Question...

By Sol Badguy, in UFS Rules Q & A

Just making sure but if a card is put into your card pool face down and then you play the combo after the face down card and the card that needed to pull off the combo before that then can you play the combo or not? Pretty sure i know the answer but I want to make sure.

a facedown card is nothing

What exactly do you mean? Is that a yes You could pull of the combo E or a no you couldn't?

it depends. A facedown multiple copy still has an attack zone.

If it is from lu chen or alex or something than it is nothing.

This should answer your question:

Advanced Rules, pg 20, says:

Combo: (X) - In order to play the Combo ability written in the
card text box, you must have cards with the required traits (noted in the
parentheses) in the card pool immediately preceding this card in the listed order.
Any references given to zones in the requirements refer to attack zones.

Face down cards ruin combo . Attacks represented by face down cards (Dariya, Multiples etc) will work however.

Edit: I meant combo not multiple.

Yeah i was talking more about Lu Chen's stuff that puts cards into your card pool. Like that foundation that after you block an attack you add the top card of thier deck into thier card pool face down. Would that ruin the combo or not?

Yes that would ruin the combo since that card is not an attack of any kind, and all combos require an attack before them.

Keep in mind, though, that Lu Chen has support that will discard those cards from the pool.

It's possible to clutter your pool with face-down cards, play an attack, play an E that clears out those cards for a speed boost on the attack, and leave yourself in the perfect position to play the Combo E.
