Noob Qn - Movement and Distance

By Darth Bane, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Hi Vets,

Appreciate if you can help to clarify the below queries. TIA.

1) How is distance measured - Counting the boxes in between, regardless whether its diagonal, and including the box that the target actually reside in?

2) Allies and Villains, say Rebel Players only want to use their own characters without the needs to Allies - can Imperial Player still be able to summon their own Villains? I am uncertain whether its worthwhile/purpose for buying the Allies and Villains pack.

Thanks again.

1) Correct. See Accuracy and Counting Spaces in the RRG.

2) As soon as either side unlocks an Ally/Villain they can bring them with in any campaign mission. If the Rebels bring an Ally then the Imperial player will get threat equal to the deployment cost and an optional deployment before the mission starts. The Imperial player can add any unlocked Villain to his Open Group but can't play them until he has the threat to spend equal to their deployment cost.
