squadron command qs

When you use the squadron command, the fighters activate during the ship phase, right?

If so, do they activate right then? Or can you finish shooting/moving the ship that did the command?

They activate as soon as you spend the command token dial.

The RRG says you do it right after revealing the command dial. Revealing the command dial is first so you're turning it into a token or activating your squadrons before the ship does anything else.

Yep, basically its "freezing" the action of the capital ship for a moment while the squadrons move and shoot early, then its back to the capital ship for its shooting and then its movement. :)

So yes, you need to be careful that you dont place your just moved squadron right infront of your ship that is about to move (unless you intend to run them over and let your opponent place them in base contact with you - which can be a valid tactic in some situations).
