Aurium Mail

Yes. Aurium is a passive (while equipped) additional black, with a once per exhaustion (essentially once per round) further additional brown.
Thanks, that's how I played it but wanted to make sure.
I think the aurium mail is one of the best armour in the game. A black die, with no drawback, and an extra brown die, once per round?
Yes, please!
For some reason Alarmed's post made me question the way we use armor defense die.
For the Aurium Mail example you would get the black plus your original gray, correct? Or is the gray just upgraded to the black.
Additional.
That's what I thought, thanks. Not sure why I questioned the way I've been playing for 4 campaigns haha

Never a bad idea to check. Printed defense dice are always additional, unless it says "replace" (such as the special text on Rune Plate- it will turn the printed gray into a black, not a gray + black. However, the additional gray -or black, as the case may be- is still in addition to your original base gray die- you add all of your equipped defense gear (and abilities) together to determine your defense pool.
Printed attack and power dice are exclusive to the weapon- you don't add the dice from all of your weapons when you make an attack, just the one you are attacking with (plus any from abilities) to determine your attack pool.
Edited by ZaltyreYou will always roll a blue die when you are attacking, even with bare hands. So they could have stated, that you always roll the blue die and only print the additional die/dice on the weapon cards. That would also work. But now they have 2 different systems, so i understand ND Jones confusion.
It makes sense to me that they are two systems. Weapons don't "stack", whereas some defensive stuff does (like a helmet and mail, or something).
Plus, if you consider the Rat Swarms, who DON'T roll the blue die when they attack, it could be that they (FFG) leave themselves open for potential weapons that don't roll the blue die, either.
Edited by sigmazero13Rat swarms and Shadow Hunter are two examples of attacks that do not include blues.
I was speaking from the heroes perspective. And i don't think that FFG had the idea of the Rat swarm mechanics in their mind at the time they designed the base game.
True, but they may have deliberately made the decision to do it that way to keep their options open later. FFG is getting much better at not being short-sighted when it comes to designing things.
