Bravo to this Community

By macmastermind, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Seriously, you guys rock - always quick with the answers and ideas and not too harsh with the opinions. Good support, good enthusiasm and a healthy love for the game.

It's a cantina-band-level good time in here. Bravo, people.

:D

All your opinions are crap, you guys all suck, this game sucks and everyone who likes Star Wars are a bunch of moronic nerds!!!!

RAGE!!!!!

Just kidding...

;)

I've been hanging around these forums since they announced the game and so far it’s been a blast.

I only wish there a was little more activity though. I’m hoping by Twin shadows this forum will just be as popular as the X-wing one. Although I’m not quite sure what it takes to get that much traffic...

Either way I’m having fun with this place :)

A good competitive scene is what it takes. As soon as the skirmish game will start to get more attention (I have yet to try it myself), people will start talking about the meta and new combos... Then we,ll start seeing threads about some unit being OP and some others needing a new title to make them relevant again... oups... wrong game!

Take that back to the X-Wing forums :P

Seriously though, I love this community. It's definitely the best gaming community I've ever been a part of. Active, but not so active that it's impossible to keep up and a wonderful, well informed community. We rock!

+1

Yea, I hope it doesn’t come to that. The last thing I wanna see on this forum is a bunch of “Math Assault” types of threads.

It’s a disappointing reality if forum traffic relies heavily on a game’s competitive scene. Not dissing the skirmish players out there, but I think FFG has done something really special with the campaign portion. E specially for those like myself that have never played Descent.

It just feels like we are in a rules question phase right now (and rightfully so!) but I just hope more campaign reviews, battle reports and customizations start to roll in soon.

Yup, I have to agree. I find the FFG Forums in general being filled with very helpful members. And with just getting into Imperial Assault now, I've found it rather informative and allows people to really ease into the game with a great amount of knowledge thanks to those members.

Thank you all very much.

Xwing is basically competitive only. Organized play is still small for IA. And with the campaign taking that much time (~30 hrs per campaign!), play time is lost towards something that would spark more debate. Only recently the skirmish questions seem to get on a level similar to the campaign questions.

Give it time until after Gencon and then you can get a more accurate comparison between IA and Xwing.

In our podcast, we are just now getting into more detailed reviews of the campaign classes and after that (in about 6 weeks) we will get into reviewing the campaign story missions. I don't expect to review the side missions before Twin Shadows comes out. There is just SO much to talk about.
