In this Episode, Chumbalaya, Kenny, and the Wookie talk about Armada, the new FAQs and errata, and then kinda talk about Wave 6 as a whole.

Awesome! I needed this today! Downloading now!
Thanks for the hard work guys!
I'm starting to agree about the M3A. I've either have had it do serious work, or do nothing and die... Main problem with the ship is the Tansarii and the names pilots are 1-2 points too expensive.
Edited by Jo JoDid you guys say Serissu is bad because she's too much like Biggs? I just want to make sure I understood what you were saying about her.
Great Job Guys! The M3-a has it uses, but it's not a swarm ship. Always take the Title, and add a Hull point. Works much better as long as you don't expect it to be like a Tie or Z. It a middle range ship with Firepower.
Great episode, guys.

She's as effective as Howlrunner in my opinion. Howl dies just as fast normally. I think she is meant to be like Biggs. Try to survive as long as possible while the other stuff in your list is doing work. Honestly no matter what's shooting at you, you have to take out Serious or your going to have issues killing the buffed ships.
However, I just don't think she is 2 points better than Howlrunner. In fact all the M3A's should be about a point or 2 less.
The Cartel Spacer gains 1 PS and the TL action for 2 points over an Academy. However, no one runs a M3A naked. So at a minimum a Spacer is 18 points with a Fletchette Cannon!
I would say that, like Biggs, Serissu's quality is heavily dependent on what she's protecting.
Oh, man! I'm disappointed to hear you talk about the Scyk that way. I've found I really like the ship. I'm even talking about the 14 pt guy. OK, so the Z-95 is 2 pts cheaper...but just a few minutes after you bag the Scyk you talk about how movement is the key to this game. To me, the Scyk blows away the Z-95 for movement. It's got the coveted 1 sharp turn... as well as the 1 bank! No other ship in the game can do that. It's got both the 3 K-turn and the 5 K-turn. What's not to like? The only thing you don't get is the 3 sharp turn. Yeah, you may miss it, but you get used to life without it. Besides all this great movement, you also get to Barrel Roll. So, with all these great moves, you can then barrel roll. How can you say it sucks, but then 5 minutes later talk about how maneuverability is vital to the game?
I have to ask...do you like Tie Fighters are more than just a formation of cheap, crap fighters to throw at someone? Have you ever used Tie Fighters outside of a formation? If so, do you think they suck? I expect the answer is yes, but that's a whole other discussion.
Look at the Scyk action bar and it does it all, but boost. Barrel Roll I mentioned. Evade is always good, especially on a low pilot ship. It can TL! I don't know about you, but when I'm flying my Tie Fighters not in formation, there are many times when I'm cruising around with no shot or not getting shot at that turn. TL is great to pick up. With your movement dial, you can easily get in R1 of a target to make the most of it, too. I've already found numerous times when I was happy to have my TL and I've not played with them a large amount. To me, the Scyks almost does it all.
Oh, an Academy Pilot is only 12 pts? Well....so what? For one, you got the PS point, a shield instead of hull, and you can TL. Besides all that....it's like bringing up a Tie Interceptor as an option when discussing Rebels. You can't take a Tie Fighter as Scum. You can take the Scyk.
To me, when I compare vanilla Scyks vs. Z-95's, I see the Z-95 as the cheapest ship that you send out to not do much and die. Or they fly in a formation and shoot at whatever is in front of it. When I look at the Scyk I see something that has the potential to be a finesse flier and really monkey with people's plans. For a bunch of Z-95's, you can probably guess where it's going to go. For the Scyk, you will have a hard time. There are times when you want something like that as opposed to a Z-95. Also, if I had points to get either just one Z-95 or one Scyk in a list, I'd go for the Scyk.
As for Serissu, I don't believe she is the Scum Howlrunner. That Tie Fighter works better the more people around her that are shooting. Serissu works based on how many shots people around her are taking. So....stick her with two elites that are real threats and leave her alone. She is kind of the anti-swarm.

Serissu
In this list, who is going to shoot at Serissu first? If they do, then the rest of the list rips them up. Have her stick near the other pilots as much as possible and just ping away with her shots. She's got a high PS and might be able to arc dodge, as well. Throw out Guri for someone like Kavil and get some more upgrades in the list. Make the rest of the list so mean that no one fires at her.
I do think a Hvy Scyk with Mangler or two is a good sniper to use in a list. Just throw one in there.
I'd love for you to get creative with the Scyk and try to fly it well. I think it can do some interesting things. Treat it like a Tie Fighter, but not the boring Academy formations that some play with.

I like the Scyk, too, but I think there are limited roles for it to be used for best effect, which I've talked about elsewhere (one of them is what you mention as a Mangler, or finding the right list for Serrisu). I don't think one of those is the base Scyk.
The problem with the base Scyk is that it is too expensive for what it does (and maneuver at low PS is not as good as at low PS). 2 points is a very significant difference (see the effect that simple change gave A-Wings, and those 2 points are less of a percentage than 2 points on a Scyk). Not to mention, if you start taking multiple ships that are "2 points more" than a comparable option, it's just a couple of ships before you are now missing out on upgrades or upgrading a ship from the basic version to a named version.
I dunno. I've done well with generic Cartel Spacers. I like them much better than Z-95's in general.

True, he is the main one I fly, but only in fun games. I'm interested to see all the lists for this Shin Dig. Since none of you on the same faction can use the same pilot. Should make for some fun lists and games
