Check out the post GenCon news item posted today (Aug 19). It lists the estimated dates for a bunch of things including the third wave lieutenants. Which is "September", by the way.

Question is "shall we ever have the third wave of RtL Lieutenants" or it will be first wave of SoB Lieutenants?

Because indicias from GenCon 2009 says SoB need only base JiT game without any of expansions btw. RtL is expansion too (and RtL lieutenants too) .

Finally, maybe this September third wave will be RtL and SoB ready (compatible stuff) used in both cases.

Just like all the other Descent expansions, SoB will be playable only if you got the core-base game, and I think this is quite reasonable......

Was the same thing with RtL: an expansion that not necessary requires all the expansion but JitD (the "core-base" game), but that is easly mixable with ALL the ones previously produced (and those came out after, like ToI..).

I think that SoB will be a great expansion, and will contain all those things we need to make fantastic game sessions, with a large range of variability.....

How many lieutenants are there anyway? I see seven for sale on the site already.

I think it is just a little crazy to have to pay that much money for what should have been in the box in the first place. Why not make them plastic and throw them in the box? Not only did they get away with this on RtL, now the same thing is happening to Sea of Blood. So we go from awesome $50 expansions to $150 expansions yearly. (probably what it will cost to get all the lieutenants and the expansion for RtL). And no minis in these either!

There is currently nothing on the upcoming products, no one has an image anywhere, and the minis were supposedly coming out this september.

I'm not quite sure if I want to have the lt. figures, because they are so awful expensive and you fight them not that often.

This is going to be an expensive September from Fantasy Flight! Descent figures, Chaos in the Old World, and Pegasus. Well at least I am told that Warhammer Invasion will not be out until October.

The SoB FAQ that just came out said that none of the Lieutenants from RtL are usable in SoB. I wonder why they limited it like that?

In fact, the *only* thing you can import are the rumors and dungeons...

Most likely because of balance. Note the cost of upgrades on Captain Bones is less overall than any RtL avatar.

Well I know I am patiently waiting for the final wave of RtL Lt's to be released. Almost have the first two fully painted and will post pics upon their completion.

Well looks like they gave us a pleasant surprise on this one. Third Wave is out!

So anyone get their hands on these yet? I am still waiting on mine to show up here in the Great White North. Looking forward putting these baddies on the table and causing the Heroes some heartache!

My thoughts right now, the smaller figs are probably a bit over priced, the larger fig looks pretty good. As with the rest of the lieutenant figures, you should only get them if you want to paint them or are a serious completinist (sp?). Unfortunately, I fit both of those categories.

Hey as do I! I love the figs and honestly I don't consider them too overpriced considering other pewter minis on the market. Also the sculpt's are gorgeous. These are going to make my Descent games even cooler! Looking forward to see my players faces when I put the actual LT's on the board instead of just the card markers. Awesome!

Other sculpts on the market are generally larger, and, honestly, better. Plus, if you are getting the Lt's purely to not have to use the cardboard chits, for most you can use the extra heroes that sit in the box while a campaign is on. The bigger ones may actually be worth it...but I am not a fan of most of the sculpts.

I finally got the final three, and they're great, Mr. Hilzernod especially. Can't wait to paint them

It's a pity they will never release avatar figures. I know they seldom see play and don't live very long if they do, but I would still love to have them.
