Newcomer with praise and questions

I saw this game at Gen Con and loved it. Ran home and told I my friends. I am hopefully going to get my copy next week. I love the setting and the ease of play. I was wondering if there were any rules about making you own custom factions. I have pick up Weird War 2 from Savage Worlds at the Gen Con and dusted off my old GURPS weird Wars. I was thinking about a Japanese faction based around the five elements or maybe a British subgroup based on druids, banshees and fairies. I just was wondering if anyone else had any ideas.

Scent of Next Meal – You take no Penalty from Smoke grenades
Mondschein – Something to do with blinding enemies.

Here is a Japanese entry maybe a mercenary or a foundation for an Asian team.

A mischievous Kitsune that has brought good fortune to the man she loves. From what I have read, they have nine tails and are tricksters incarnate. I was going to give here a handgun maybe a type 100, then give some her tails powers. A tail that lets her breath fire, a tail to make things malfunction, and a tail to possess other characters

I also have a member of the British Sub-group

Private Harvey

This unkempt and fouled mouthed Soldier is tolerated for two reason. He is a Redcap and he is great at killing. Wikipedia says that they carry a pike, kill people who stray into their homes and use the blood to color their hair. I was going to give him Claws for a close combat weapon, Celerity, and Iron Boots that would negate negative terrain. For his Stamina Pack, Traveler’s Bane, Harvey would take the blood of victim and heal a Wound. For his Mental Pack, I would give any enemy on the same path as Harvey would be at a -1 for mental values.

my friend created a faction of the Rising Sun

can't remember the exact name of the faction.

on of the troops was a Ninja

some of the abilities/equipment I can remember off the top of my head

Agility - Makes a bull rush for free at +1

Shuriken - can throw once per game (and can pick it back up)

if the target is between 2 and 4 spaces away it deals 1 automatic wound with at least 1 hit.

In addition, you may attack with it if an enemy unit crosses your path.

Ninjato - +1per dise - hand to hand combat

smoke bomb - when attack announce smoke bombs use. You and the attack engage in a stamina duel. If you win you take no damage and may move 3 spaces.

use once per game

all I can remember.

ninja stats - Could be wrong

combat - 5/4/3

Stamina -6/5/3

int- 3/2/1

speed - 8/7/5

hand to hand special ability and sneak

Kind of working on a Nippion Faction myself using some of Reapers Cronoscape Minies (Miji Officer, Anime Herione and Modern Ninja), can't find appropate Troops though.

i play infinity as well so maybe some of those minis would work as they have ninja/nippon, ?

Dark, I look at those models and I think the Haqqislam line would make great troops for the Union.

I kind of know what goes into the packs, but let me verbalize it.

Combat packs are anything that can change the fighting

Stamina packs are anything that can change damage

Mental packs are anything that can change mental ranges.

That being said how would someone make a sniper hero?

well i think his normal stats could be like oneils, but his packs could include a telescopic site, maybe plus 2 to dice rolls, ability to shoot past anyone, and courage, could always use highest value in a duel ?

Cool thanks dark. I modified the courage, but I could not come up with a name for the shooting ability.

I wonder also UDT Hero? I know he or she would have a spear gun, wet suit that would work like GO GO GO, limpet mines what about Rebreather a +1 to stamina rolls

how about "eagle eye". for the shooting ability?

the speargun could have an ability like the whip, on a natural 10, it drags its victim to base to base, then carries out a free cc with no counter attack, if closer than 5 spaces.

limpet mines could be placed on walls with a "freind or foe" electronics, and go off like a grenade, can be defused with a succsesfull mental roll -2 against the character.

instead of re-breather could be nitrox mix + 1 to stamina...............(im a diver too :) )

Question about a Reich Item. It is a gauntlet that melts or rusts devices. Basically, after a successful attack much like Strafe, the opponent can choose not to take damage. If they choose not to take the damage, then they must remove and disposable item. How would someone make a Flamethrower for Tannhauser, maybe +1 combat rolls and a -2 shock rolls for the opponent?
