Fire Hilde (miniblock)

By Wafflecopter2, in UFS Deck Building

Pssh, who needs Healer and Lynx Tail when you have ShadoWar and Third Rite? Oh, right... everyone. My bad :(

This deck worked out really well, despite being thrown together out of cards on hand and only pulling off the Execution Rite combo twice all night, and one of those with only 1 momentum. Here's the list, don't mind all the 1x-es :b

Doods: 1. Hilde. 7/18

Comments: Hilde is still good. Free card draw for making your attacks a wee bit smaller is amazing, and I think she is by far the best speed pump in the format. I kinda want to try a 1shot deck with her + Hades next :)

Attacks: 22

4x Execution Technique: First Rite 4/3 +2L weapon

4x Fire Shadow 3/3 3L3 +0H weapon

3x Cleave 5/3 4H5 +0M weapon

3x Pommel Smash 3/3 2H1 weapon

2x Execution Technique: Second Rite 5/3 4H3 +2H weapon

1x Knight Breaker 5/3 3H5 +0H weapon

3x Execution Technique: Third Rite 5/3 4M6 combo

Comments: That 1x Knight Breaker totally won me a game, Third Rite -> Cleave -> Breaker+Combo E B). The main problem I had was, despite the majority of these attacks being tiny little pokes, they were very frequently blocked over the night... especially the high attacks, which I had more of :( . I might add Leg Slash to the next version simply to help get momentum and put more pressure down -- like I said, Third Rite doesn't need to go off for me to be able to really do some damage. I'm definitely considering cutting Pommel Smash for something that has a block, too -- it only really helped once, committing an opposing Stand Off, and the absence of a block definitely hurt more than once.

Assets: 7. Different cards in this category: 5. :D

2x Hilde's Flags 2/5 +2M (it's gota long name)

2x Crown of the Forgotten Secret 2/5 +1H

1x Wonderworld Comics 2/5 +3L

1x Kunpaetku Shrine - Dream Remnants 2/5 +3H

1x Armor of the Forsaken One 3/5

Comments: Kunpaetku Shrine is definitely out, Hilde doesn't have the vitality to support it at ALL. If I had them, more Wonderworlds would definitely be featured in this B, being able to do something like 1st Rite -> Pommel Smash -> Third Rite on T2/T3 after solid building turns would just be too good. I was pretty satisfied with the others -- Armor didn't do anything because I never drew it, Crown completley saved my ass against a 8spd Midnight Launcher, and Flags are just really useful.

Foundations (lemme count...) 32

3x ShadoWar 3/5 +3H

4x Communing with the Ancients 3/5

2x Enraged Golem 3/5

3x Shand Off 2/5 +3M

3x From the Mouse, Humility 2/5 +3L

4x Body Transformed 2/5 +3M

3x Laughable 2/5

4x Ruthless 1/5

4x From the Hawk, Alertness 1/5 +3M

2x Hope for One's People 0/5 +3H

Comments: I told you this was thrown together with what was on hand :) . Laughable, From the Mouse and to an extent Body Transformed really didn't do anything -- I never ran out of cards in my hand for Laughable (and I never could, because I always had a no-block card left over :| ); I never had an attack deal damage in a situation where From the Mouse COULD have mattered and I rarely had it out anyway; and Body Transformed was basically just in there to help with my check for Third Rite in case I rolled a 3, which I never did (because I usually didn't need to go all the way there :) ). Enraged Golem might also make an exit, I've got enough 3diffs already... although it definitely makes my pokes matter in a much bigger way.

Would definitely want to add 2 more Hopes, another Stand Off (I could sworn I had 4...), and all the rest worked really well. Communing makes it possible to have guaranteed checks for the first steps of the 3rd Rite combo and definitely makes things easier when I'm playing a proper string, and spam foundations are spam foundations. Not to say From the Hawk or Ruthless are useless -- but I mostly play them for the 1 in the corner and the grey background.

Laughable is better served when you play down to one card with a block. If you don't play like that then laughable doesn't help you as much. I would say you can ditched the cards you mentioned unless you are going to try to play a bit more risky. Unless you are running Genuis Alchemist or Ivy attacks most attacks are going to do a higher volume of damage instead of hitting with multiple attacks.

I see how Laughable is good if you go down to 1~2 cards... but 7HS, 22 attacks (including Third Rite and Pommel Smash, w/o blocks, which I want to hold on to) and really few cards (tbh) with blocks all adds up to, it's really hard to get there. And whenever my opponent has a threatening board presence -- ie, always, because moves get big fast :) -- it's not worth the risk to go out of my way to dump my hand.
