Well, my FLGS (Leisure Games) is pretty much the largest RPG store in the UK, and both them and their distributors have RT slated for the week starting the 24th August, so the week after next is my guess.
I've e-mailed FFG about it, i wont get an e-mail back till wednesday atleast but if i get an answer i'll post it here
Amazon still says it's released today, but they sent out an e-mail to those of us that pre-ordered saying there's been a delay and they'll let us know when it's available.
At least Amazon cares about it's customers enough to point delays out to us - would be nice if FFG did the same and didn't all take time out to go to Gen-Con.
I've just noticed the same thing from Amazon.
I always thought it strange that they have been the only place online to have actually been allowing the book to be ordered anyway. Most other sites don't list it at all yet.
Amazon's release dates aren't based on reality. They list estimated release dates based on their own proctological findings.
When one of Amazon's fake dates comes and goes, they send you an automated email telling you so.
I don't know if you've noticed, but so far Amazon hasn't gotten any of the Dark Heresy stuff until 6 weeks after it's been released anyway. You're better off going through your FLGS if you want your stuff on time. My local store usually gets new releases the same week FFG announces that the book has been released.
I'm not saying FFG's got the best way of dealing with releases, but don't give Amazon more credit than they deserve.
Well I dont have a good FLAGs nearby, I hope and prey that this one will be with Amazon soon so I can get to exploring the expance!

Again, you'd be better off checking out one of the game stores that sells stuff online.
FFG's GenCon report has a listing at the bottom. It says Late September for Rogue Trader.
I've noticed the Upcoming page hasn't been updated concerning Rogue Trader.
Considering it isn't "On the Boat" yet, I'd think Late September early October is more likely.
Rogue Trader: ambition knows no release date.

Or they just have gotten around to updating it. Before the website changed, the upcoming section was regularly unattended. I don't really know how much better it has gotten.
My local retailer assured me he would have ten copies in tomorrow, (Friday the 21st).

Maybe you're right. Then again, all of the stuff that's either "on the truck" or "in stores" has been updated on time.
To avoid having my spirits crushed in a month's time though, I'll just expect Mid-October.

You should have made a wager with him, you could have been a rich man.
LOL yeah I dont think so... If he somehow does get them I will be upset lol. ALthough I am sure they made a bulk order long before I made a CE order.
Well, the latest from Ross Watson in the Design Diary indicates that both the CE and regular edition of the book will ship in late September. So it appears that is the answer.

Which sucks, as it was originally suggested by FFG that it'd be out late August, which means it'd been dropped back a month.
This makes me even more annoyed at the release of the game at Gencon, it means that Americans that went there and bought it (since most Europeans and the like aren't gonna fly over there just to get RT early) get it almost 2 months before the rest of us.

We've already waited this long since this board was put up and speculations about the game began. Two more months is nothing and, besides, two months can go by in the blink of an eye. Heck, October is only 3-6 game sessions (assuming a weekly to bi-weekly gaming schedule) away. That'll go by in no time.
Most Americans couldn't just fly or take a week to a week and a half off work to road trip to Gen Con to get the book either (that'd be a heck of a lot of money to spend/lose just for one book).

Being an American, the trip would have been more than 1000 miles for me. And I'm currently not in a position to take such a road trip since I have a two year old at home. And while people attending GenCon who would most likely be American had a crack at it, I think that it is really such a small segment of the gaming population that is interested in RT that it is negligible. During and after GenCon, I kept checking ebay to see if anyone had bought it and put it up for auction and it hasn't. Meanwhile the game that I was really dying to see, Eclipse Phase, which only had 100 copies at GenCon did have a one, and only one, copy go up for auction. Again, I think that it is such a small portion of the gaming population...
Back when Black Industries was still doing the WH40K RP stuff, I used to think that it was unfair that the Europeans got first crack at it.
See this is what I dislike about FFG they give us all these cool previews and stuff and thats great but at times it feels like we're being spoken at rather having a conversation with them. Sure these previews are great but I'd rather have a release date then a sneak peak at ship building, Dark Gods was worse enough when the release date get slipping and no one would say when it would finally come out until it well did.
Yeah, I hear that, Lanowar. I LIKE the previews, I LIKE the polite and friendly FFG customer service (like when, for example, I couldn't figure out how to get a name onto my warrant of trade) but what I HATE is this endlessly slipping release schedule. I still don't really have a clue when I'm going to get the collector's edition that I ordered at vast expense.
If I'd known that the book wasn't going to be out until "Late September - probably" or that after shipping across to my private volcano island lair it actually probably won't get to me until "early October - possibly" I might not have ordered the thing.
I HAD hoped to take the book on holiday with me, but that's out of the window now, too.
I must admit I'm now at Hellebore's "bemused grumbling" stage, too. It's a shame, because these delays are sort of taking the edge off the pleasure we should all be getting from the book! I do recall a similar situation with US fans having problems with DH when it first came out, though, and things all worked out OK in the end there.
I wonder what it's like being inside FFG looking at all these forum gripes? I think there is a risk that we (the fanbase) must sound at times a bit like the mob from the Simpsons (" The alien's bringing us peace and love - quick, break its legs so it can't get away!" or:- Dr Hibburd: " The only cure for this flu is bedrest, anything else I could give you would only be a placebo !" Mob:" Where can we get this placebo? Is there some in that truck?" [mob overturns truck])
I guess we all just want the book ASAP and moan when there are delays...not much more to it than that, really...
FFG's previews and release dates are alot like a strip club. Sure you get some nice T&A (sometimes) but in the end you go home and play with what you already have there or make up your own stuff.
Lucky for me, I live with an hour of Gencon Indy and it was one of the first books I went after. There was a really long line when they released. I wonder if the pushed back release times for their games stem from the awsome quility of the books and board games. Everything they produce is super high quality, takes lots of ink/paper/resources and developement time, not to mention the shear quanity of games they produce. Every time I gone to Gencon, FFG are always if not the largest then pretty darn close to the largest vender with a massive amount of material. It sometimes boggles my mind to think of the amount of time that goes into producing their games.
just my thoughts on the delays. The more complex the end product, the more time it takes to produce.

The problem with that is it has already been produced. You already have a copy.
It is just the rest of us who are stuck waiting for some news about when we may expect to be able to join you.
