Out of curiousity, how is this game now? Everyone ive talked to has said mini block is rad. So i gotta say... im really intrigued. How does one get back into this game? What sets pre tekken should i be picking up? Has the game moved to a 1 license a set style release schedule? How drunk did Nfxon get at Gen Con? Hopefully i can get some answers to these questions.

just jump back in where ya left off and buy what you can, "most people"(quotes are intended) are playing Block 4 already but in reality most metas will be playing Block 3 or legacy, i would recomend just buying whatever you can find and re-learn the game just a little bit, also check out the Q&A Forum ans there have been re-rulings that need to be looked over that should help ya a lot. To answer about mini-block for most it's like going back to set 1-3 again, which i didn't like it was TOO BLAND for my meta, so if you want a game where its most like sets 1-3 again, try mini-block if you want where anything goes play legacy, if you want a fairly competitive scene play Block 3.

What up Drew, Ryan here from down in Anderson, SC. Just got from GenCon man, and the new mini-block is hot. Not really mini-block anymore, it's the main block
Umm, Tower of Souls/ShadoWar/Tekken will be the only 3 sets legal for the new block right now. So get in while the getting is good man. Store championships start in October hopefully and City champs in January! Lots to look forward to. Did i mention the game is ridiculously fun again?
Also, yes they moved the game to a 1 license at a time schedule. James said the sets will start to get bigger (probably after the Soul Calibur set in October, but he didn't say for sure.) Also, Base Sets will still be two sets.

1) Pre-Tekken sets are ShadoWar 01 and Soul Calibur IV 01
2) Yes it has, only Tekken comes out next release, and after that is another helping of Soul Calibur.
3) Probably permanant liver damange was had.
