What should I get (see details)?

By gundamv, in X-Wing

I have $15 in store credit. Store sells stuff at MSRP. What should I get with that $15? (I don't mind paying some money above the $15 store credit, so long as it is reasonable. So, paying $15 for a Firespray after discount is maybe ok. Paying $85 for a Tantive IV is probably a no.)

My collection:

2x Core (so 2 X-Wings and 4 TIEs)

Rebels

1x X-Wing

1x Y-Wing

1x Falcon

2x B-Wing

1x Rebel Transport (so I have Wes X-Wing)

1x HWK

1x A-Wing

1x E-Wing

3x Z-95

1x Rebel Aces (so +1 A-Wing and +1 B-Wing)

1x Outrider

Imperials

3x TIE Fighter (beyond the 4 from the Cores)

1x TIE Advanced

1x Firespray

1x Shuttle

1x TIE Bomber

1x TIE Interceptor

1x Imperial Aces (so +2 TIE Ints)

1x TIE Phantom

1x TIE Defender

1x Decimator

Scum

1x Most Wanted

2x Aggressors (IG-88s)

1x Scyk

1x Star Viper

If there's a ship from each faction that I rarely use, it would be HWK (Rebels), TIE Bomber (Imperials), and Scyk (Scum).

I like to get ships for the ship + the cards. Don't like getting ships for cards only (so, I don't want to get an other TIE Phantom just for Tactician. If I get another TIE Phantom, it would be because I want to play 2 TIE Phantom builds).

Your thoughts?

Guess it depends on if you have a faction you play the most.

Personally I have a fondness for firesprays.

Firespray is a good ship and I believe you get a nice named card with it.

I would think either a y-wing, because they are now viable to run pairs with the new scum stuff.

a-wing, because it is pretty fun to run 3.

phantom, they might be a thing with the no names to run in pairs now that the new rules are out.

Defender. I have a lot of fun with duel defender lists. either both named and loaded, or generic and jonus.

The phantom and the defender give you better cards to go along with them.

I am kind of debating between Firespray, Y-Wing, and Most Wanted.

In tournament play, I tend to play Rebels. However, in casual play, I play all three factions. I also have a friend who plays with me, but he borrows from my collection. Having a Firespray allows Firespray (Imp) vs. Firespray (Scum) battles. I can also try Boba + Kath (Scum). Y-Wing is useful for getting a second Gold Squadron to use in builds. Most Wanted opens up more build options for Scum.

Get another HWK! Running a Scum list with Torkil and Palob is really fun to fly and mess with your opponents plans.

It looks like you have one of everything, so it really just boils down to what you want to play more of. Triple Firespray? Quad X-Wing? BBBBZ? TIE swarm? The choice is really up to you.

B-Wing

Get another Starviper!!

Second Y-Wing. It gives you three models, three ion cannons (useful for flying two Thugs plus Dace), and has good options for your other Rebel builds.

Use 15 to get one essentially free ship, use an actual 15 to get a duplicate.

Whatever you think you need more of, get.

TIE Bomber or M3A.

The bomber is a ship that doesn't do well on it's own - it only really becomes useful once you run several of them. Adding a second to your collection will guarantee the first more utility and table time.

Unlike the bomber, the M3A is not bad on it's own, but I see it as an expensive swarmer - two gives cheap backup firepower for a list.

Armada!

Surely you need more than one Interceptor?

Getting another Y-Wing would only help in flying generics though.

Get yourself another E-Wing, I have a feeling they will become more popular soon.

Get yourself another TIE Advanced, they will get more popular and viable when the Raider arrives in system.

Get yourself another TIE Bomber, they will get a boost, as has been hinted.

Get them before they're hot.

Surely you need more than one Interceptor?

That's why he has 3, one plus Imperial Aces, so access to all pilots.

Oh, I missed that!

Hmm, Firespray then, or maybe StarViper.

2nd defender of course.

I'd say StarViper- the Autothrusters card is worth it.

I'd say:

Falcon for engine upgrades.

Tie advanced so you can run three when the time comes for their triumphant return.

Viper for thrusters, if you ever decide to run all three interceptors.

Most wanted - because Z-95s of dooom!

I'd get a second bomber. Bombers are pretty bad alone, but when you run two or three with bombs they start to pull their weight.
