Anyone else wondering what the Intel Keyword means?

For some reason I feel like it will be an rule which interacts with our flagship. Anyone got any guesses as to what it'll do?

Look at the top command of an enemy ship at distance 3

Mirror s xw Intel agent

Maybe it will allow you to extend the range of squadron command?

revealing a command dial seems rather weak unless you can use it before a ship moves.

maybe a better one would be to exhaust a defensive token

or reduce the Squadron number of a ship.

The only "secret" information in the game is your command stack. Therefore I assume it lets you look at the hidden commands.

I agree with megamen and clone in that it will allow a peak at the command stack - and I am very intrigued by how this will be implemented. Do you take an intel action in place of movement or attack? Do you only glance at the top command cup, or do you look at the whole stack so that you actually have information to plan a real response? I was drawn to the Intel/Counter combo on the HWK, and I think Jan Ors' special ability is the one I am most excited to learn more about.

From what I can make out form the card spread from the wave 2 article Intel says:

While a . . .

distance 1 of your . . .

So my guess would be to do something while attacking at range one of your fighter, probably to look at the command stack if I had to guess.

Intel means your ships have better computers than ships with AMD.
