The upgrade is only 4 points. Only the smallest Rebel ship can use it (one Corvette version), and can only reroll 2 blue die on one frontal attack, or one blue die on side hull zone attack. On the other hand, a Victory II can use it to reroll 2 blue, 3 red at close and medium range at the front and reroll 2 red die from a side hull zone. The weakest ship can reroll 3 die in two attacks, vs the strongest ship for 7 die. I don't think there is another upgrade that lets the rebel player reroll that many die on every attack at any set of ranges.
Edited by wjgoLeading Shots too powerful?
about as lopsided as the difference between a CR90 and a star destroyer ![]()
or as lopsided as the victory as it tries and fails to get the corvette in arc
But anyway, makes sense to me. It's a 85 point ship stacked against 39, just about every upgrade they share is going to affect the victory more
Edited by ficklegreendiceI am saying its the Leading Shots versus every other opposing ship, for 4 points. Not a Corvette vs the SD. Only the corvette can use Leading Shots on the Rebel side. Its makes the Vic II into a rerolling machine. The only attack it doesn't not reroll all die except 1 blue are long range attacks. Not even the Rebel Assault frigs get an automatic reroll for all its attacks like the Vic II does here.
Edited by wjgoYes, I saw that card as well and I think it is absurdly powerful for its points. I mean, it is essentially x-1 concentrate fire tokens (at medium range, where x is the battery armament with at least one blue die)
How much are 5 concentrate fire tokens worth to you Vic 2? Or the latter ISD and MC... The value of the card increases with the strength of the ship.
I am not even sure I like the card, it does not even get exhausted. And there is nothing that the Rebels have that is anything like it where it can reroll 5 die - without cost, or - maybe I am wrong. There will be a version of the MC80 and the ISD that can fit the card. Perhaps the card has changed from the preview. But wow. A concentrate fire command would just add insult to injury.

Keep in mind that the blue dice has no blank faces, meaning every result is a hit, crit, or acc (which can be even better than a hit for the VSDs), and thus you have to discard a useful dice result.
The only time leading shots comes into play in a big way, is when you roll nearly all accuracy on the blues and multiple blanks on the reds. It doesn't boost damage into the stratosphere, it reduces the chance you end up with the worst ~10% of possible outcomes.
It's like buying catastrophic dice insurance for your heavy hitters.

So far I've been pretty lucky that my opponents have been doing a bang-up job getting corvettes in my arc for me ![]()

I think this is the best way to look at it. It's not actually going to come up as often as people think....i would suggest playtesting it a bunch first and seeing how that goes.
Plus the final card may not be that cheap, and there's opportunity cost also (can't take another upgrade in that slot)
Also, it takes up an upgrade slot, and doesn't really combo directly into any other upgrades or abilities, besides rerolling for triggers.
