Do fighters have the same range as their dice (black is short range, etc)?

Or do all fighters shoot the same range regardless of dice?

All fighters shoot at range 1 on fighter range side of the range band. It even displays all three dice colours at range 1 there.

every fighter does indeed shoot at the same distance

the only known way to skew that is the Tie bomber Major Rhymer, who apparently has a distance 1 aura the increases friendlies' distance against capital ships to distance 2 (if he hasn't been errated)

Actually Rhymer is "worse" than that. All friendly squadrons within distance 2 can engage ships at short-medium range with all armerment dice.
