There is a Star Wars: X-Wing Ohio group on Facebook:

There are postings for games all over the state, but quite a few around Columbus, as well as a few different stores in the city that have game nights.
There are several good groups around the city that play x-wing. My local group plays every monday with 3-10 players at the Guardtower. We have 5 store championships among us from the current season, so it is a healthy competitive scene.
The one downfall of the local scene is that there are not a lot of regular tournaments, although we are trying to change that. A store a hour and a half away runs tournaments twice a month but it sucks to have to drive that far.
Local stores include:
The Guardtower: https://plus.google.com/+TheGuardtowerColumbus/about?gl=us&hl=en
The Soldiery: http://www.thesoldiery.com/
Packrat comics and games: http://packratcomics.com/
Epic Loot Games: http://epiclootgames.com/
There is also a board gaming group that has regular X-wing nights, CABS: http://www.buckeyeboardgamers.org/
Edited by darthjeff81What is the store's name? It would not be until late May early June if it happens but I am happy to hear that there is a competitive community there!
I went back and edited my post with some more info.
Art of war in Cincinnati and Epic Loot up around Dayton host regular tournaments and has a healthy competitive scene
This will be a sad day for our greater area meta.

Nah, bring it on. The more the merrier!
I'm really looking forward to seeing what the players out that way have to offer to be honest. Should this move happen, it will be a lot of fun!
I wish I was moving back to Ohio...
oh yeah, and if you do move to Columbus check out Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams.
I've been down to Epic loot a couple of times for events. Swell crowd actually. And I'm a bit particular.

There's one up north by me too! I'm East of Cleveland.
There's one location up near me that has a tourney once a month, I'd love to play a little more than that but most other locations seem to hold very sporadic/sparse competitions.

Fixed that for you. ![]()
The Soldier and The Guard tower are the two main places that X-Wing is played. Packrat Comics in Hiliard is another place that occassionally holds tournaments.

Are either of these on the eastern side of Columbus? It is my understanding that if we get relocated, that this is where it will be at.

The Soldiery is the closest to the east side of town. I run a monthly get together on the North East side of town, in Westerville as well. Join the X-Wing Ohio Facebook page that is where most of the details are presented.

hehe I'm from Cincy so I was raised on Skyline, Donatos, and Graeters
Just a few more years in PA then back to the homeland.
I already joined the FB Group so if we do end up moving I'll be looking you guys up!

Donatos... DROOOOOL.
They are all over the state by the way. It's been way too long since I had it though.
So it seems Jeni's is Columbus, Graeters is Cinci, and Mitchell's is Cleveland as far as outstanding local ice cream. We have some awesome stuff in this state ![]()
I'm from Columbus. I haven't had a chance to play in a while so I may stop by Guard Tower one Monday evening. I tend to avoid the Soldiery.
I live in Springfield, which is a little rat-hole town between Dayton and Cbus. The tabletop gaming in this area in general is great, far above average IMO as far as player base and quantity and quality of LGSs. Epic Loot in Centerville is an absolutely top-notch facility, certainly one of the best in the state and probably nationally as well. Guard Tower and Pack Rat Comics in Cbus are the only stores in that area I have personal experience with, but they're both well-run, well-stocked and have large groups of locals coming in for weekly open gaming. No one in the area charges for table space, and most shops either offer customer loyalty programs or flat rebates to better compete with online retailers. Columbus itself is a rapidly expanding metro area with tons to offer in the way of food, sporting events, entertainment, etc. and the cost of living is very fair in most neighborhoods. Central OH is a great place to live.

I went to Wittenberg! Rat-hole is an accurate description of Springfield for the most part, too bad I wasn't down there for the table top scene!
And like Cbus, Cleveland has utterly exploded with new growth, developments, culture, and events in recent years. The turnaround from just 5-10 years ago is mind-blowing. All we're missing is the gaming scene!

Seems to be a common thing in Ohio atm. Cincinnati has really been reviving their downtown but of course I left just before it started to take off. Every time we go back there for family stuff I see something new and awesome.

Wittenberg is the reason I moved here! Still trying to figure out the reason I haven't left yet, 10 years post college...lol. Springtucky has a way of sucking people in and never letting go.
