I am pretty bummed out that there has been no news regarding the future of Arkham Horror from Gencon.
I thought there would be at least something.
Do you think this means that Arkham is not going to have any more expansions??

Well I don't think its surpising since Insoumouth just came out in June I think it was. I think they want to give people time to explore that expansion before they tell us what else is being planned. Has anyone at Gen Con asked any of the FFG people that about it?
I think they probably are working on some new stuff, just that it's still a ways off, or, for a small box expansion, they usually don't reveal those till shortly before it comes out. I think a lot of people thought Innsmouth Horror was going to be Arkham Horror's last big hurrah, but thinking about it, I think there's still a lot that could be added. Lots of people are hoping for an "At the Mountains of Madness" expansion (whether it would be a big box or small box expansion, I don't know. I suspect small box, cuz there's only so many interesting locations in Antarctica.).
I have some ideas for how a whole world map could be incorporated- instead of going to certain buildings around town, you can go to different countries/cities around the world and each country/city would have it's own encounter deck (Egypt, London, India, deepest darkest Africa, etc.). Perhaps, also, with the world map, they could incorporate different "missions" instead of sealing 6 gates, perhaps you have to gather clues and track down different people/artifacts etc.
Anyway, I wouldn't be too worried about it. I'm sure there's more to come.
Hopefully the random square box that was shown before the two random epic size boxes is something like you described. A new main board for a huge adventure that ties into the existing characters in some way.

In one of the GenCon sessions (highlight video on the front page) three new products for the year were revealed. Sort of. It was a slide of a blank square box with question mark and two epic size boxes. Personally, I am hoping that the square one is a BIG expansion for Arkham Horror.
