Is this announcement about ***rotation*** REAL!?

There's always Legacy!

If this is, indeed, true, I will be building Legacy decks myself!

This current block, like the previous one, will not be missed. I actually welcome an early rotation!

Don't worry guy I'm with you too. ( preocupado.gif sniffles) I just recently spent more money than I really wanted to so that I could finally put my Zhao Daiyu deck together the way I had always wanted it and if this is true in around two weeks it will all be for NOTHING!!!! llorando.gif

And here I thought it would be OK cuz I still had 2/3's of a year left! corazon_roto.gif Now my baby will be dead. Even worse ALL of my decks will need complete reformating just so that they will even function in a match. I think that maybe I just might loose it... sorpresa.gif -> gran_risa.gif -> partido_risa.gif

So, well, confirmed for real or it just, as usual, a matter of "steeve said" ?

thats because they have just released the core sets of course there will be more balanced stuff there is a larger amout of 4 point so naturally will be more problem cards. but the fact there will always be problem cards, i mean i keep seeing people complaining about prowess i have fair enough it is annoying but there are cards which negate or other things with life gain or youjust hit them more. but just because people dont like certian cards doesnt mean they should have an early cycle to get rid of them all there are solutions.

It's because people don't like STANDARD.

As it is, it's chock full of borderline broken crap that results in a NPE. IT IS NOT FUN. The recent bannings helped, but not much. If they reached this decision it was probably because they read all the decklists and realized that 1) everyone was playing mostly 4 point stuff and little to NO 5-point stuff and 2) that the meta is stale as crap.

people dont use the new set much because it only really works with it self only a few things work out side of the sets. and i quite like the way standard is at the mo and i dont think everyone at the moment can afford to increase the card base so quickly if they cycle. i mean me and the person i collect with dont have much of the new set because we cant afford it and i am sure alot of people are in that position. personally i am enjoying standard how it is and dont see ways around all these problem cards.

Yes, the card pool will be too small, but the game is suffering badly from the Standard format being so completely horrible. The game NEEDS this if it's going to survive, because too many people have quit because of the game's developments since release 8. The last year and a half for UFS have been a complete nightmare.

Holy crap, YOU saying this? I am thus flabbergasted.

Considering what his playgroup is going through, yes.

Plus, he's the one who had to say "****, that card DOES work that way"...

This is not a bad thing.

well if people dont like standard they can play miniblock format and if you do like standard then play standard i would personally not like the cycle cause of the finacial aspect of building up card base again. while if they cycle doesnt happen it gives people a chance to get at least some card base over time.

It's all up to your scout. Like Tag mentioned, you can alternate between standard and Legacy. Also your scout has free reign on what tournaments he runs.

He could allow 4 point if he and the players want to. No big issue there.

But UFS DOES need this to go on. I, who had been playing since the beginning, have not played at a tournament in nearly a month. THIS announcement made me take a look at the Shadowar and SCIV01 cards and start wondering how much more fun those would be with rotation.

I just got a text message from a friend at Worlds and he confirmed this. So unless there's a big hoax going on, yeah.

i have been playing since the beginning as well i just dont like the idea of such a little amount of cards to choose from and the fact that cards now arent going to increase quick since they are releasing one set at a time and by the sounds of it 3 months at a time so there will be decks near enough exactly the same using the same cards which seems to me a bit boring.

Im not gonna lie... this sucks.

I think rotating after worlds is a great idea format wise... but on such short notice it blows. It will address alot of what the game needs no doubt, but shoot people it feels like KoF and Flames of Fame just came out....

if this happens IMO FFG needs to release more sets in a given block....

The sets will become bigger to compensate

And you know for a fact that the sets are going to increase in size?

fair enough but tekken isnt as it was done before they planned cutting to 1 set at a time

I've been refusing to play standard for weeks now...this is the best news ever. I've been saying for a while now that if this game survived until rotation it would be alot better shape. Just way to many cards with 4 marks on them were unfun, and they couldnt ben them all. The 5 mark card format on the other hand is incredibly fun, reminds me so much of the agro on agro days of old.

Unconfirmed info is unconfirmed.

However, should any of you have more information on this issue that you can share, it would be appreciated.

Hi, maybe you don't know me that well, but I'm a Scout, playtester, former forum moderator, and former rules arbiter. I can't say for a fact but that's what I've understood from speaking with James personally.

Again, until we get someone to corroborate (or moar people - possibly people at Worlds) we can't consider your word as gospel.

...Holy cow, bro. This is really happening...? Man, this is bull****. I just burned up a whole lot of cash putting my Earth Yi Shan * deck together, and now you're telling me it's gonna be gone in a few days? Come ON! Now I have to basically change the whole thing, and rotation already happened THIS YEAR! What the f***?!?! WHAT THE F***?!?!

...OK, I needed to get that out of my system.

I guess it's best for the game, but the short notice is definitively not appreciated (and now I'm gonna have to tweak my Yi Shan** deck like a madman, because I don't think he's all that good in Block 4 ...).

I hope they get rid of diversity if this is the case cuz right now we only have like 20 characters legal for block 4. Tekken brings us like 6. And then i know there were some promos coming but IDk if 30ish characters is enough to implement diversity...

As for sets getting bigger Im all for it but its not gonna happen til after Tekken, which imo may be to late

Like i said I think its needed, but this is way short notics

Hence why I think there should be more stability. It really feels like they're making it up as they go along.

My playgroup has gone mini-block for about 6 weeks now, well most of us have, there are still a few stragglers who are playing standard format. I can't remember having this much fun since I came back to UFS about a year ago. I haven't even looked at my 4 point shuriken cards in over 2 months, to be totally honest I don't even miss them.

The release of Tekken will only add to coolness of mini-block, and I can hardly wait.

June: The game isn't in a good place right now, so were going to ban 3 cards.

July: That still didn't fix anything were going to ban and erratta 10 or so more cards.

August: **** it, were just going to block 4 8 months early.

I'd be fine with going to block 4, but doing it with 2 or 3 weeks heads up is just stupid. "Hey guess what your cards are pretty much worthless in 2 weeks. But you can still play them in that other format (you know the one where your only allowed one offical tournament a month for that format and the one where we only run one tourney a year for (which BTW it isn't for the coolest prize in gaming))."

I use to sell my stuff that was rotating out 4 or 5 months ahead of time for extra cash for new sets, but now it's worth jack. This was a stupid move and lately I have been contemplating quiting this game and this might just be the final nail in the coffin. But this game might not be along to long after this anyways, this move is likely to cause some serious backlash and I've seen people quit for a lot less.

If this is the case, then i have to admit that i'm truly truly disappointed with FFG for allowing this on such short notice. I know that it's probably best for this game; a game that's truly deviated from its original concept (Universal FIGHTING System vs Universal Foundation Spamming).
However, my favorite characters in this game just got tossed out the window for Standard events, should this be true. That's really disappointing, to say the least. I mean, NO LEGAL STREET FIGHTER CHARACTERS...really, just really?!?!
