Will you be able to get dice and cards to replace lost or damaged ones?

( My gaming group has a nasty habit of spilling beer! )

Will the books included in the core box set be hardcover?

( I hope so! )

Will this be something you can order through Amazon?

( I don't shop at my local gaming store and Amazon has no listing for games like Descent. )

What do you think future releases for the game will be and what form will they take?

( I suspect everything released for this new game will be a box set.)

P.S. - Just for the record I am not saying Warhammer will be anything like Descent.

Is all the stuff we have seen so far for WFRP3e just the next stage of the Ratcatcher Hoax? I mean they deemed to fool us once how can they be trusted until the game is on shelves in the stores?

I have played Warhammer first and second edition and enjoyed them both.

It was always the setting I love best about Warhammer.

As long as the setting is the same I don't care about the mechanical parts of the game.

Of course you can order more dice. The whole dice thing is a gimmick to have to force you to buy dice from FFG. If FFG used standard dice that everyone has then it'll be less revenue opportunity.

Once FFG rakes over all the suckers they can for $100 then you’ll see the individual books available at a cheaper price.

The $100 price tag seems to be a serious problem for a lot of people.

I agree it's a large amount. FFG needs to show us all that your getting a lot of value in the core box set.

If the books included in the box set are hardcover this would help.

The crazy dice seem to be making a lot of people angry too.

I doubt they are hardcover in teh box .. but I'm guessing as much as the next person.

About the $99.95 .. I just had a quick check on the price of D&D (good enough benchmark for roleplaying games) and I see the boxed set of 3 books is $104.95 - and I'm not even sure if this is the minimum needed to play (I've not played 4e). But it does have an easier entry with the PHB being $34.95 although that's not enough for 4 people to play the game, it does get someone into it.

Obviously, these are all MSRP as that is all we have about WHFRP so far.

You do need all 3 books to play 4th edition.

Realistically, $100 American (and I'm Canadian, so it will be more for me) is a reasonable price for 4 colour softback rpg books and a bunch of cards and dice. It's still a big number. The big reason we're balking is that paying $100 bucks for a mystery game is a big step. We need more data.

Yes, and as several people have pointed out you will most likely spend more than $100 on a system you are actually playing but with other games you the options of spreading the money out over several purchases and you can buy one book fairly cheaply, check out the system and on that basis decide if you wish to purchase more.

I can afford $100 quite easily for a game I want, I could afford $50 for a game I had misgivings about but thought could be good.

For me it's the principle not the money, what am I getting that is worth $100? If FFG can convince me that this game is worth $100 I may well buy it.

FFG must know that $100 is a high price for a starter package and they need to sell it to me if I'm going to buy. Normally adverts would do the selling, but WFRPv3 is in the strange position of having Runefang arguing on the forums and Jay Little giving seminars at GenCon both aimed at convincing people that the impression the official adverts have left them with is incorrect.
