I'm saaaailing awaaay (Greyjoy - LCG)

By Paradiso, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

Alas, Greyjoy. It was love at first sight when I first picked up AGoT. Sadly, we just weren't good together. But I'm a new man; I've turned over a new leaf. How about you take me back for old time's sake, eh?

My focus here was to stick to what I liked about the Ironborn (stealth, warships, saves) and avoid what I didn't (intimidate, deck discard).

The premise is very simple. Lots of high claim plots to make with warships in support.. The Jacks of All Trades are there to help support the war crest effort. The Scouts are there to let me consistently go first. The rest is location hate, saves, and the Ironborn punching people in the face.

I welcome any and all comments.

I'd be interested to know how the deck has done if you've played any matches with it. I have a similar Greyjoy (by similar I mean I have Kings of the Sea and not too many other Greyjoy cards so my deck has a lot of the KotS cards in it : ) ). In mine, I put Vale Refugees in there in addition to the Island Refugees and also Support of the Kingdom and Blockade to supplement Veteran Marauder and Price of War. So far, the deck has either won a quick, crushing victory by knocking the opponent down and not letting him up or petered out after the first couple turns and suffered a crushing defeat.

I don't have Valar Morghulis in my plot deck (partly because I only own one and it's in my other deck). I was thinking about adding it because my deck falls behind (and thus not being able to punch through for a claim 2 military victory) it just can't catch back up. How has it been doing? The claim 0 kind of goes against the spirit of the deck right?

Here are the cards that have been most important for me so far (other than the resource denial cards mentioned above): Balon Greyjoy, Scouting Vessel, The Iron Mines, Wex Pyke, Euron Crow's Eye, Scouting Vessel, and Support of Harlaw. Support of Harlaw in particular has just been brutal when I've been able to get out before the opponent and put a lot of characters into play.

I don't have enough experience to make suggestions about your deck, but I'd be interested to hear about your (or anyone else's too) experiences with Greyjoy in LCG now that Kings of the Sea is in the card pool.
