I want to build my first (Stark) deck. Am I correct, that the combination of Bear Island and Winter is impossible, because the White Raven attachment on my house card is a non-Stark card that I control and thus negates Bear Island's effect?

You are correct that the White Raven will make you unable to trigger Bear Island.

Whether or not it is "impossible" may be a bit more subjective. Someone might come up with clever ways to use Carrion Birds to get rid of the White Raven (and itself) in the Challenge Phase so as to use Bear Island in Dominance. Might be a lot of work for no real return, though.
