For those complaining

By Guest, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I think you made your point loud and clear. I am almost positive FFG will continue to make WFRP 2nd books, as I think they are now aware of the demand for them.

But please stop ranting. All ranting does is anger others that disagree. Do we really want trolls and flames in FFG forums. We have gone years without them why start now?

This product is already made, it will be released, and ranting is not going to stop that.

Complaining is the only thing a consumer can do(and not buying the product). Are you saying we should not do that?

(just a NPC !)

It's not evolution, it's regression. That why the fans and me either are frustrated.

No longer will the pre-written adventures be 60% composed of fluff background material that never actually directly affects the players in any immediate way and just makes it take longer for a DM to absorb and memorize the basic structure and flow?

I'm okay with this.

Well I'm glad that everyone GMing the game will come with an inbuilt encyclopaedic knowledge of the Warhammer world, the Empire and its surrounds. It'll save space in a lot of places.

Hell yeah we do, forums without arguments are boring.

Come on we have former serious Grogard now traitor Runefanglengua.gif to champion WFRPv3, backed up by the Boardgame Boysenfadado.gif vs. a Union of the Loyal Grogardsangel.gif and the Version 2 Fanboysaplauso.gif. We could even have Judas Littledemonio.gif as the biased moderator. You know it's brilliant entertainment.

Seriously I may check the game out, but I'm not sure yet. $100 is a lot to invest in a game that on the serface does not look like what we want and for $100 I would really like a game that does not require me to buy Adventures Toolkits just so I can more than half my group in the game.

What I would really like to know is when will WFRPv3 be available? On the news section it says "For immediate release" but it is unavailable from the FFG shop and after a quick look around the internet I can't find anywhere that is even advertising it.

Never had any trouble with this. Maybe you should train your memory?

Gee, since you're so riled up about this game that you're resorting to throwing around insults, I guess that I should take your view more seriously.

Sorry, mate.

No it wasnt an insult, im sorry you feel that way. I have myself trained my memory and i have never had any problems of that which you speak. Memory loss is quite normal you see.

It's... horrible. I have limited faculties in memorizing made up histories for fantasy board game settings.

It's quite a detrimental flaw. I... I just... can't cope sometimes.

I wake up in the middle of the night... crying...

Since its the same as reading a book and then forgetting it, i would see it is a problem.

The moment they SAY "We're going to keep supporting WFRP2e" we'll shut up. Until that moment, we're going to keep bitching. And bitching and bitching and bitching, with a bit of whine on the side.

Don't include us Boardgame boys in that crowd championing WFRP v3. I might not have the most boardgames, but I have enough, plus tons of the expansions to have easily sunk well over $1000 worth of stuff to FFG, mostly boardgames.

There's a HUGE difference here between them revamping a game such as WK, and changing the entire game of WFRP, even someone like Me can see that, and it doesn't make me happy. If it really IS a complete change from the normal WFRP it could be enough to actually lose originally VERY loyal customers like me.

ill wait till i see a used copy,at bout 1/2 the askin' price. dont really see this one gettin' real collectable IMO.cool.gif

What? What's going on here? Have there been threads I've been missing?

I haven't seen any complaint threads. Why are you making an issue out of nothing? There's no reason to stir up the old grognards.

WFRP 3E is doing well, I'm enjoying it, let's leave it at that.

Uh, no. They out and out stated that they would no longer be supporting 2nd edition. At all. And I don't see much evidence of it on the forums anymore any way - if anything, people complaining are complaining about the things that are still missing from this edition (a full magic system, more comprehensive careers being the glaring omissions)

Or you could perhaps not bother reading other people's right to voice their opinion in a free country?

The game is not perfect, it has issues, not everyone is going to like it. So when they ask £70 for an incomplete (as compared to other editions) edition, you are going to take some flak.

That post was from August.

Yeah why has this thread suddenly re-surfaced?

Those were ugly times.

Whats starting to bite me in the butt is how incomplete the game is. So how many box sets I am going to buy just to see the over all path of the careers. With other RPG you see where you start and where you are going. It like they took the book ripped it into pieces and sayed "we sell this part of the player section 1st then the rest over time MU HA HA HA". Let me give you a more PC term for complaining it called FEEDBACK. Remeber it the players that have to buy this game from FFG and how they make their money. Some players will love what FFG does and some wont but somewhere in the middle is balance. Thats what FFG needs to do. There are things they have done with 3rd I love and things i have hate.

Every RPG sells new content in new books. It isn't 2nd Edition, if you still like that just play that the books are still useable.

The problem is that some people bought this new edition expecting as the same material (spells, careers) as earlier editions.

The core game does NOT have the same number of careers, nor the same number of colleges of magic.

For the price, some people are upset that they still have to buy lots of expansions in order to play the careers in earlier editions, which were available right from the start.

The earlier editions do not have the same mechanics of the new edition. That's what you're buying is the rules system, the dice, the cut outs, ect. Not every expansion is going to be needed and if one releaes with the content you want buy it. If the game is fun, if you want to play the game itself, that is what should be driving you to purchase it. Also, is it that hard to create new careers and spells for the ones missing? I'm new to role-playing games but it doesn't seem that hard based on my 4 gaming sessions. We have already created new monsters for the game.

Exactly what was the point with this topic?

Other than hearing from the old 2nd edition die-hard fans? (which by the way was nice, I miss those guys, although I DON`T miss the discussions).
