Air; thoughts for the future and current?

By knew_b33, in UFS General Discussion

So my favorite symbol being Air has brought up a few questions to my attention, how little the span of it is.

What direction is Air going with Tekken coming out with so far what we've seen and where is it now for strength and potential growth?

Also were there multiple reasons for the banning of Chun-Li instead of just leaving it at the fix of Feline Spike having Felicia Only? What will be Air's most upcoming weakness too?

Thanks for thoughts, and if you happen to start argueing... with me included, then more for me to think on.

If Nina Williams* is any indication, Air will be adding shenanigans to its arsenal thanks to its bosom buddies Death and Void , which could prove interesting. Apart from that, your guess is as good as mine.

Chun-Li 9 was nuts. Here's a pretty nasty combo:

Your opponent plays 2 foundations. You use Chun Li 's R , bust out Ira-Spinta . You use Nine Lives to send his foundations to his momentum, Lord of the Makai and/or From the Mouse, Humility to loop Spinta and any piece your opponent took from you, and voila! Gynormous building advantage, and you don't even have to bother playing Spike and/or Hoyoku-Sen as Reversals. Nuts, and other people likely have come up with nastier stuff than that.

Air 's main weakness right now is its defense, methinks; you have Tira's Contract , which is a luck-of-the-draw card, Make a Difference as a one-shot save-your-skin, and Stand Off if you build a lot (in Air ? Unlikely.) And that's about it. Your weakness is your opponent surviving to hit you back, basically.

Air can sure build a lot... Infected, Rootless, Powerful Style, Blinding Rage, Makai High Noble, End It All... all of them 0~1 diff and 5~6 cc

alright, that's what I was expecting sorta was a comment about Nina... I want to see more spoils of her support and the other Air character...

WOW chunners was that crazy, geesh, I'm cool with her banning then :X

I absoloutly agree with the base around the foundations having crazy support for checks but my main worry is what attacks are more likely to be used compared to what can be pulled to throw people off guard.

on my list I have Zi Mei's Roundhouse and Rolling Buckler Uppercut... and I do have a deck made for worlds, if I make it, but I just want to get insight

I stand corrected, then. But you have to strike a balance with Air , since card drawing is scarce and your staging area-based defense is a middling one. You can't go all-out and pitch your whole hand the way Earth and Good can afford to do, and you can't draw the amount of cards All and O rder can (so you wouldn't have to worry about defense while you built), so while that building is great for setting up a quick burst kill (which is what Air excels at), don't look for it to compete with Earth 's staging area late in the game (but that's what Ira-Spinta is for gran_risa.gif ).

Oh, I don't know...Power of the Light seems pretty badass when it comes to Air drawing.

Also, Blanka + Power of the Light = Stupid. Jes sayin.

Death drawing? Surely you jest.

Power of Light? I'll look that one up.

I find enough card draw with just Return to Southtown and a 7 HS character, such as Raphael that I'm taking with me... too bad I had to cut out Lord of Makai and Chesters' from it but oh well these things must happen

Had a Felicia deck that abused Power of the Light

Ira Spinta, another attack, another attack, Form with Felicia, Power of the Light, Draw 6, Tag Along for Ira Spinta, or even just Tag Along next turn to get Power of the Light back. Generally over whelmed the opponent with strings of attacks

P.S. This was for a non-Feline Spike build, to show some newbies some crazy Air antics without utterly destroying them!

Felicia mill you say? >.>

lol that won't work, even with Chester's crazy milltastic Form you could barely pull off PotL against fatter decks :

Cool I'll remember that tactic for other kinds of stringing, thanks for that tip.
