Some questions (4th FFS edition)

By 413554ndr0, in Talisman

Hi all guys.

Some question about this good game. Some questions may be repetitive, but...just to clarify all the situations...

1st: when you go to a "draw 1 card" land free of event cards but occupied by another character (character means a friend of mine being playing with talisman) you have to combat the character or draw an event card

2nd: when you go to a draw 1 card land occupied by an enemy event card and by another character, you have to combat the enemy card or the character?

3rd: when you go to a land like for example woods or graveyard or tavern (a land where you don't have to draw a card or face a card just present there) and the land is occupied by another chacacter, you have to face the charater or follow the instruction of the land?

4th: if in a land there is already a card like for example labyrinth (or cavern or magic portal) and another charachter, you have to face the character or follow the rules of the labyrint (or other ) card?

5th: if you go to a land in which there is a card that teleport you in another place, you behave like you just move to this new place follow the instruction of this new place or face a character if there's one there, or your turn ends?

6th: in a draw 1 card land there's a hobgoblin. You go there, face the hobgoblin and win the match. You don't have to draw another card as the land says, right?

7th: you pass the test of the portal of power and so you go in the inner region of the map (plane of danger). You turn ends or, if there's a character here, you can combat him?

8th: can you play immobility after moving into a draw 1 card land and drawing an enemy, so to escape him avoiding combat? I ask this because the italian translation is quite odd (says that you can play this card only at the beginning of a character turn, before his movement...)

Thank you all very much.

Alessandro.

Quick answer to your first several questions is to see the turn order diagram on the back of the manual. If there is a card on a draw space, you cannot (generally) draw, and must encounter the card that is there. If there is a character and you choose to encounter the character, you do not interact with the space (generally) at all, whether it has a card, asks you to draw, or is a graveyard (etc.).

#1: You encounter character or space.

#2: See #1.

#3: See #1.

#4: See #1.

#5: You have an encounter in the new space. For encounter, see #1.

#6: Correct. Card-drawing, if any, comes first, then you encounter the card(s) in the number order.

#7: You can encounter that char, combat or use special ability.

#8: English version is the same. Immobility used to be cast as required, don't know why they changed it. RAW you can't. I play Immobility as it was, "cast as required", so that you can Evade a card you drew.

Thank you all for the fast reply. All is much clearer now...ehm...I missed the block diagram at the end of the manual...very useful :-)

CIAO!

Just ading a new question here instead of making a new topic..

I was drewing the closed up shop adventure card, and it says that all places on the board closed up shop..

I assume it's for all places, and not for only shops.

Funny to see that a cave will closed up shop lengua.gif

i also assume that it effects only the mainboard??

( Not sure about this, because the destruction spells says it too( if i am right) and it can effect the dungeon.. preocupado.gif

Even if a Cave or a marsh are not shops, you can say it's off limits... preocupado.gif

Does anybody know if closed shop also effects the dungeon?

It's a little dead here today..

Name doesn't matter, what matter is that cards that are Places go poof. Ragnarok from FM is worded "on all Regions", which is how I read board, so if you got Dungeon, Places there go away as well. Same for Curfew with Strangers in Dungeon.

Thanks, i was just a little confused with this card. sonrojado.gif

so...Board +land+ all regions= means the same( just with different wordings)

That's how I read them.

On another FM topic, man, does the Trickster work as written? In brief, if you defeat him (Craft 2, so not a huge deal), you can take an Object from another character in the same Region. Bag of Holding/Carrying and Concealed Pouch are up for grabs as written, since they "only" protect against losing it in PvP, via character special ability or Spell?

In previous editions the term "realms" was sometimes used to distinguish some expansion boards from 'regions' of the main board. As these are often expanders for particular spaces on the board, I'd assume they qualify as part of the Land, but I'm wondering if anyone has stumbled upon any instances of doubt or conflict in this area... plus how they were resolved.

I have send the question to FFG for you Dam gui%C3%B1o.gif

My own answer would be, that the trickster is not a pvp nor spell, so it must be possible to steal the Bag of holding, carrying or pouch.. happy.gif

But it's still stealing... ( let's wait what FFG will say..
