In pretty much every 40k novel i ahve read and in few Dark hresy storeis (If I remember righr) are descriptions of soldiers using heavy weapons with some sort of Support Harness which helps offset the weight and recoil of the weapon (some of the more advanced ones use Antigrav) for example in a Dan Abnet Eisenhorn story a inquisitor acolyte uses a Autocannon with a Mechanized Support Harness. Does anyone have rules for these anywhere?
Support Harness's and Antigrav units for Heavy Weapons
Yep I had a couple of drug cartel heavy weapons blokes with them (and some heretek backing) a few games ago, I gave them the Bulging Biceps trait and offsets half the weight of the weapon. Runs on a standard las rifle power pack for about 10hrs, will be a bit of tech-use roll to rig them up to the weapons centre of gravity.
(I believe they date back to around 1st ed 40k wargear or Rogue trader sometime)
You could extrapolate from the Recoil Glove i suppose?
Or go retro (back to 40k:RT 1e) and have the weapons fitted with suspensors - mini grav-plates that neutralise the weight of the weapon (or indeed any kit) completely...then you can tote a multimelta like a pistol!! Heck why not dual-wield a couple of heavy bolters or assault cannons! That would meet the 'rule of cool' eh? And really help with those subtle Inquisitorial investigations you're supposed to be conducting...

Certainly there is a time for subtle but in a upcoming module that features lots of Tyranids, Big Guns are probably much more important. Ala Aliens with Vasquez and Drake and the big smart guns.

Actually to be honest I like the idea of a "Recoil Harness" the means you can fire a Heavy Stubber without having to do the "Brace" action first.

No need to be so passive aggressive. People will play their game however they want (hence all the Space Marine fan rules (and I hate the idea of RPing SMs)), and you posting something like that isn't constructive.
Moving on, suspensors are still in the game, Deathwatch use them with their heavy bolters, so those would work, but they'd be rare.... VERY rare.
Some sort of support harness, like the one they use in Aliens with the Smart Guns might work though.
Recoil Gloves cost 85 à piece, a Harness which replaces Bracing should then cost 1500-2000 Thrones, should be very rare and definitly military equipment.
Military EQ should be harder to find than just 'very rare' (since good chars can get up to 90% just with good Fel and Talented Inquiriy +20), imposing another -10% for Inquiry.
I like the idea of the recoil suspensors mentioned here, however, the grav-tech smacks too much of xenos-craft to me (specifically...Eldar
)
