Devil Reef questions

By Nephilim2, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

There are several issues already addressed in the forum regarding Tsathoggua and Devil Reef , and Kevin already answered something regarding leaving Devil Reef

I still have some specific questions

1) The patrol car: can you enter Devil Reef with it or not? And additionally, can you leave with the patrol car. (although thematically it doesn't make much sense)
2) LiTaS: can you enter Devil Reef when returning from LiTaS?
3) Y'ha-Nthlei: there are no other game effects that allow you to enter Y'ha-Nthlei than entering via Devil Reef or the Other World, what about leaving with the patrol car?
4) Time bomb: what if you leave a time bomb on e.g. Innsmouth Shore, does it affect Devil Reef and Y'ha-Nthlei too?

Side question:
5) If in the Innsmouth jail during upkeep can you spend clues for the FRI track?

Cheers

My take:

#1: IMO No. "They can only be reached by aquatic
movement. Investigators can use the Falcon Point location
ability to make aquatic moves as needed." (p. 6)

#2: Yes

#3: RAW yes. I would've preferred if these two locations had been worded like "enter or leave" instead of "reach". In my games, I won't allow this, not that Deputy cards see much action as it is.

#4: No. Time Bomb only affects the spot (street or location) it is in, not the whole neighborhood.

#5: I would think so. You're "only" delayed when arrested in IH, don't lose your next turn like in Arkham.

Thx Dam,

You're right about #4, we interpret that card wrong all the time sonrojado.gif with the "location/area" we thought they meant the neighborhood.

Actually there is written literally "enter" in both location not "reach", thus I think RAW, you can both leave those locations (Devil Reef and Y'ha-Nthlei) by patrol car then. Still I find it very iffy that you're able to do so. Maybe in my games I'm not going to allow it either.

Was too lazy to fish out the board, I just looked at the rulebook.

You're sending evidence to the feds via blackberry text messages.

I agree with Dam's answers 2 to 5, but not with 1. I mentioned the reasons for my opinion already in the first thread linked by Nephilim: new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp
