I love The Green Flame, it adds so much more flavor to the game. **** those cultists!
Favorite Herald?
Grwoth is mine but BGotW is the worst. To much to keep track of.
Usually it depends on the GOO. So if Yog-Sothoth is the GOO, I'll usually play with the Dunwich Horror. But if I had to choose the best overall, I like the original herald, the one that started it all, the best: THE KING IN YELLOW.
Have to go with BGotW. Yeah, I'm a sadist + masochist. But Corruption is fun, finally monster surges are actually bad instead of just reprieves, Dark Youngs move
.

Actually, that would be the Dark Pharoah.
hmmm, I go with the Goat. Moving Young is just too cool, and you know they do actially move, one crushed me once...

Did they really add the DP Herald to the site before KiY came out
? I mean, KiY has the Herald rules and all.
yes they did, quite some time before too.
Yes for me definitely BGotW, but we didn't yet managed to defeat him.
Last night we played two times against Ghatanothoa and BGotW Herald only using the BGotW and IH expansion.
We had an early gate in Devil Reef in the first game. We ignored closing it for too long, so the DoT was full in no time. Monster surges at Devil Reef are bad
(Hex monsters always move there).
Second game the gate in Devil Reef arrived midgame, Doom track was half full, none of our chars had enough money to go there in the normal way. We decided that three of us would go through a gate just to go to Y'ha-nthlei and then to Devil Reef. Two went via Arkham gates one via Innsmouth (he had a decent Evade skill). One got him self LiTaS in the second step of Yoggoth, the other one was for four turns delayed in Another Dimension. Third actually got arrested and was "sacrificed". The new character he drew had enough money, but by the time we actually where through the gate in Devil Reef to close it, the DoT was full again.
Ok we would have tried to let the Feds handle it, but at that time there where hardly clues in play and only one of our investigators had a decent Evade ( but not decent enough it seemed
) and still could move enough.
