No cards in hand

By michel3105, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Sorry if this can sound like a stupid question, but I'm new to the game...

My question is: if a player remains with no cards in hand, does he or she immediately lose the match?

I'm asking this because that's what happens in Call of Cthulhu, yet I couldn't find any clarification about this situation in the Core Set rules or FAQ...

No. In fact, it is not unusual in this game at all for someone to play out their entire hand. Power totals are the only way to win/lose this game.

(And on a side note, there'd be something really wrong with the rules and FAQ if you could lose the game like that, but have to search for it in the rules.)

are you sure? I've never heard this and thought the only win condition in Cthulhu was story cards won.

In CoC you loose if your deck is empty.

That's right!

Sorry for the double confusion

And just to be clear, you do not lose if your hand OR deck empty out in Thrones. Currently the only way to win the game is to gain the required amount of power (there are things in the history of the game such as Doomed or variants like Kingsmoot which can change the win condition from 15 power or add an additional winloss condition but these are all special rules and none of them currently exist as default play in the LCG).
