Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) 2009

By tuggs, in UFS General Discussion

Despite the Penny Arcade card game being released, Fantasy Flight Games will not have a booth at the Penny Arcade Expo next month, wasting what is, IMO, a golden opportunity.

Last year, there was a booth; however, FFG had recently taken over the UFS license, and did not make any effort to coordinate the tournament that weekend. No prize support, or anything. It was confusing, to say the least, but even THAT is better than nothing.

Admittedly, the Pacific Northwest is a little isolated, but I'm having a hard time understanding why we're getting the snub- no offense to GenCon Indy.

*grumble, grumble.*

Everywhere is getting the snub, UFS wise, compared to Gen Con at this time of year.

HatMan, I feel for ya. I really do- Canada gets ignored by FFG. Still, one of y'all did take US Nats...

My problem, aside from being childish/selfish, is that this is a squandered promotional tie-in opportunity. It really doesn't make any sense.

Wow. You think FFG ignores people in continental North Ameica? Interesting...

Ah yes, forgot about our friends in New Zealand.

Does FFG even have any offices down there?

That's the point I was trying to make. The problem is that FFG has a Penny-Arcade product out and no booth at... the Penny-Arcade Expo.

This is truly worthy of a "wat"

I agree completely, but how about we turn this into a "Who's going to PAX?" thread?

I'll be there! So will Baranor!

I don't think we've ever met ArmedPirate - where do you call home?

Baranor is my scout. It's been a long time since I set foot in the church of UFS, though.

Baranor and I are college buds.

I'm still living in SoCal, but this'll be the first trip for my fiancee and I up to PAX, as well as our first trip to Seattle. I'm really looking forward to catching up with old friends!
