Anybody from the old MN Source meta still playing?

By Belegul, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

I recognize some names on here... but very few :) I've been away for along time. I was just curious, is there anybody from the old MN Source Meta still playing this game? I was looking at all my old cards tonight, and thinking, and missing all the old good times. Tim, Rob, Casey, Waters, Dock, Hose, etc.

Also, a big shout-out to all the people I've played with in the past, LoB, Madkasel (if he still plays... it'd be weird to see him gone with the game), ktom, and all the other people who made my tourney trips to Madison so much fun :)

Anyway, yeah, hi to all the old people who might remember me; if there is still a meta in the Minneapolis area, let me know! I might stop by and see how the game has changed :)

Doctor, doctor, Mister MD,

Can you tell me, what's ailin' me?

Is that a spectral voice from teh past? I can barely make it out. Matt, you may or may not remember me, but I met you once or twice at Madison, but you were into school a bit too hardcore by the time I moved up here. I've had my ins & outs with the game but I'm still playing on a intermittently regular basis. We did have a sealed league going with Tim, Hose and some new guys at the Source, but I haven't been there for a hwile (I live in Hopkins now), but sometime after GenCon I'd be happy to gety together for some games and reminisce about the "olden" days. But you'll have to lean in close... my voice is not what it once was.

I do remember :) If I remember right, you were in the Iowa area initially, and were the only group that could really give our crew a run for our money :)

After GenCon, I wouldn't mind making a trek somewhere to start playing again, maybe once or twice a month or so. I like the idea of sealed, it saves money, no more spending $300 on 4 boxes every 4 months! Though, I think things have changed...

Hey Belegul! Its great to see you post again. We got a cahcne to meet at teh Murder of Crows tourney in Madison in the fall of 2005 - which i think was just about your last before "retirement". It was a real pleasure for me - as I ahd learned a lot from the posts of the Source crew over teh first two eyars of teh game.

Anyway - i think you'll find the now LCG fomrat much easier on the wallet than the old CCG system was - and there ahs been a lot of interest in the game form folks who were dissuaded by the cost attached to teh rpevious model. Its taken a while, but the card pool is finally starting to acheive some depth and balance, and I think you'll enjoy gaming in Martin's world via the card game interface as much fun s it was in the past.

Hope to see you around.

Well, there are some players up north in Cambridge that still pay this game, and I think a store in Shakopee is still holding events; hard to speak for others. I've been trying to get Rob to play for some time now, but he always has something going on.
