Hey guys, since FFG is coming out with card sleeves soon, I was wondering if anyone had exact card totals for TI3 and the expansion. Would be handy in knowing how many sleeve packs one would have to order to sleeve the whole thing.

By my calculations, there are 656 cards you may potentially need sleeves for between the two sets. This is NOT counting duplicates (IE, base-set cards that were replaced by new, erratad SE cards don't really need to be sleeved).

Oh nice! Apparently FFG releases an official chart listing the amount of sleeves you need for any given game. According to them, TI3 and SE takes 15 packs of mini sleeves if you want to get every card. Looks like I know what I'm getting.

I'm guessing the 15 comes from the 9 and 6 (if I recall), but the 9 packs would represent somewhere between 401 and 450, and the 6 would represent somewhere between 251 and 300. Since there are 656 cards to sleeve, which is near the BOTTOM end of both numbers when you combine them, the extra pack is probably due to "rounding up", but rounding up twice means you'll have an extra set of sleeves.

Of course, if you have other FFG games you could use them for those games, too.
