Nanok & Ring of Protection

By Parathion, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Just to make sure and get some opinions:

Is Nanok allowed to use the Ring of Protection (Armor +1) or any other Armor increasing items except explicit "Armors" ?

His card says: Nanok of the Blade cannot wear Armor.

The question came up because "trap card damage ignores armor" and by Armor in this case the total Armor value is meant that the hero has.

He can wear the ring, it is an "Other" item, despite its effect.

Nanok cannot wear Armor with a capital A, meaning stuff in the Armor slot, whereas traps ignore armor, meaning your armor value, not Armor, where things like the cloak that cancels wounds on a blank or ghost armor that prevents damage with fatigue still work.

I concur; if they're talking about wearing armor, then it's only reasonable to assume we're talking about the item type, not the stat.
