So I think I get this game...

I feel that Rasho is definitely one of the best characters for the format, as he's one of the only "control" characters this format has, and that's saying a lot when pivotal pieces to victory are far and few. With Rashotep's insane myriad of "blanking" cards, I think I can get rid of their important options, and block any muscle they throw my way (and by block, I mean attempt, because blocks don't exist in this format).

Agents of Control

Rashotep - Double Crown - Close Throw - C®ock Grasp - Ka(mmunist) Technique - Memories - Valued but Not Trusted

The importance of blanking. Simply put, you try to blank as many as possible, starting with their key cards (generally their characters, terrains), and anything that counters your strategy, and hopefully blanking or erasing their field so that they have nothing but Pit Fighters to work with. The two Throws also feature Stun to help hinder passing cards on their already blank cards. Valued is an extremely useful card as it does something even Rashotep cannot do: blank attacks (or rather, prohibit them from playing attack's abilities).

Throw Down

Bracers - Close - One-Handed Vader - Flooded-Nile - Atoning - Hungry - Brooding

Rashotep loves to throw his ******* around. Bracers is a free +1, with an E Commit to really mean business. Brooding is a +1, Hungry is generally +2 (and above), and his array of Throws really help push the damage through for some hawt sauce.

The Finishing Touches

Berserker Rage - Sieg(hail)'s Earth Divide - Striking Thunder - Fury of the North

With Berserker Rage, I turn awesomesauce attack into holy crap you better block this (and take half rounded up =D) attack. Earth Divide ends games, period, and Thunder helps the Throwdown. Fury of the North is gimmicky, but I've definitely used it CSS style.

Random Egyptian Magic

Characters - Body Transformed - Regretful Existence - Torn Hero - Sideboard

The characters and sideboard were clearly built hand-in-hand, by turning my ruthless, cold Pharaoh into a skull-crushing Barbarian/Golem/Glam Rocker. Undisputed Ruler is to stop impending Combos, Fury of the Ancients, etc. Body Transformed is for when I check an attack (boo). Regretful is to scare off Intimidating Presence and Corrupting Force, while still giving my Throwsauce +2 damage. Torn Hero is generally to fight mirror matches, or anybody else packing what little Stun and commit there is in the format.

What do you think? Am I gettin it?

Looks pretty good

I don't like Berserker Rage, it's a dead card on top of all the other dead cards [characters, attacks] for your build turn(s). And when it goes off, you don't even get a big vitality advantage. Why not just run another attack, or another damage pump foundation? I herd Unstoppable Warrior is kinda good (kinda way better, I mean)

Can't you run some attacks with blocks on them? Blanking stuff doesn't help if they're just gonna take you down with attacks-at-printed. Striking Thunder seems IMO like an easy cut, you have way too many high-difficulty attacks and it's just a slowish mid that helps you a leetle bit next turn.

4x Brooding might be too much, but hey 1/5 foundations are 1/5 foundations, dunno.

Brooding is a 1/5 foundation with a block!

cursed blood....so much has death already it's not hard to sneak this gem in. and it is a very good one. 1/4 with a low block! zoix!

-I wouldn't call characters "dead" cards, even during building phase. Unless you're suicidal, no player plays their entire hand (unless they know they can draw, or reduce damage). As such, the very few 3 characters I run are for 6 checks, blocks, and the ability to switch chars if need be. Versatility is key.

-Berserker Rage is just such a great way to push a Throw over the edge for the much more chipper damage against them. It's a 3/4, as opposed to "another attack" which would likely be a 4/3 or 5/3. Also, the way I view it, I can keep their attacks at printed by controlling their stuff, and chipper them better than they can me. But hey, I hated *Dhalsim*, and I'm not a huge control player, so maybe I'm mislead. Unstoppable Warrior? Nah, blows up way too much stuff and really holds me back.

-What would you suggest? Sometimes you need to make sacrifices; I chose the most useful attack line-up I could find, and well, that meant having to suffer with some rather crap blocks. But really, that's what mini's all about; failing blocks, and needing resources to pass. Playing smart. Remove Striking Thunder? Perhaps...but I wouldn't jump to say it's so useless. Even if they block my 4 speed (good luck with +3 blocks everywhere), I just use Atoning for the Past to add it to my momentum face-up, and get its awesome E the rest of the game. Striking Thunder + Bracers + Brooding SURELY means I outspeed my opponent in the damage game.

-4x Brooding not just because of importance, but, you guessed it: 1/5s with a block.
