Starkiller

By Crabbok, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Over in the X-Wing forum, it is believed that Juno Eclipse is a likely new pilot coming to the game soon. If that turns out to be true, that perhaps could open the door for Starkiller to be in this game! (Since FFG's own "Star Wars" universe seems to be linked across all their games I'd say it's certainly a possibility).

OMG I want to have Starkiller soooo bad in this game!

Meh.

Meh.

Quality encouraging feedback as always.

I think what he was trying to say was that the character isn't that good. If we're going to see someones secret apprentice, I'd rather it be Mara Jade.

I don't really want Starkiller in the IA game to be fair, I want them to either be original or already canon established characters from ANH onward

Hey, that's not fair. 99% of the time, my feedback is high quality and mostly accurate. Starkiller was meh. Meh sums up Starkiller perfectly.

Less than half of the named characters in the game are canon though. But yes I get it, we do need all of the core canon characters to show up first.

But if Juno is in X-Wing, that would make Starkiller canon in FFG's Star Wars Universe, so he'd be just as fair game as Kyle Katarn, or Dash Rendar.

Maybe a future wave will be an entire EU wave. Dash, Kyle, Starkiller, Mara Jade, Thrawn, etc.

No it doesn't. I may hint at such a thing, but the two things aren't actually related. They could use Juno but never use Starkiller.

I don't think there is such a thing as FFG's Star Wars universe, and even if there were, the existences of one does not require the existences of others. The fact that Corran Horn exists doesn't mean everyone else from the books he was in does. Likewise, Vader was part of TFU but that doesn't mean we have to include all TFU characters because he's in the game.

It's possible Disney will declare TFU non-canon, but will let FFG use Juno because she was just a pilot.

I would think Grand Admiral Thrawn would be a better fit for Armada , that being said I would love a mini of him in IA .

I agree he would. But yeah having him in IA would be awesome too. We've seen leadership abilities in this game, we have officers and other leaders... so he COULD totally work. Plus painting him would be fun!

Using Juno, without Starkiller, would be similar to using Kyle Katarn without Jan Ors, in my opinion. They are extremely close related, and if one shows up I would certainly expect the other. Granted I hear you that they COULD - I'm just really hoping that isn't the case. Starkiller is the most awesome dude ever.

I liked Starkiller. I enjoyed the Unleashed games. I don't view them as canon, never did. The games honestly don't even feel like Star Wars.

The unleashed games were a complete abomination to the way the force was designed and used in every other element of the SW universe.

His entry into IA would be riddled with problems from the start. He's too powerful. His character would either be horribly OP and way too expensive, which his fans would cry about. Or he'd be made normal, and people would whine about him being nerfed to fit in IA.

But they wouldn't be using Juno and Starkiller, not unless he's a Tie Advanced pilot, which seems highly unlikely. Can't see them doing 3 named TA pilots with the Raider.

The fact that they have Juno in X-Wing doesn't really mean anything for a different game, made by a different team of people. I agree it means that Starkiller is possible, but far from a given.

As is pointed out above, there's issues with fitting the character into IA. I mean at one point he's even stronger than Vader. Which I think is why most people have issues with him as a character...

What Juno Eclipse amounts to in X-Wing is a name on a pilot card. That's not adding the character to the game really. Same with Emon Azzameen: it's a name for a Firespray pilot card, the actual release is the Firespray.

The actual ship is the TIE advanced x1, which is a ship you'd expect to see released. A Marek mini would be a full on miniature, and given they've paved over TFU with Rebels I doubt that'd fly with LucasFilm. See X-Wing, Carnor Jax is a pilot. In Imperial Assault, he's an actual mini and they had to rename him Royal Guard Champion.

I could see Dark Side Adepts, I could at a stretch see SWR's Inquistor. But a Marek mini? Half a decade too late for that ship to sail.

The Raider has four.

Commander Alozen at PS5, Juno Eclipse at PS8, one between those pilot skills and a Tarn Mison style PS3.

Juno Eclipse is a TIE advanced pilot because Eclipse is a TIE pilot, used to lead one of Vader's personal squadrons. Marek isn't a pilot. (Then again, nor is Carnor Jax, but they needed Royal Guard pilots and they've no shortage of x1 pilots)

Bendak Starkiller? Dude, he's been dead for like 4,000 years!

* well, he has in my world: I refused to progress without beating him, without having levelled up past lv2. Not easy.

...

In those other elements of the SW Universe, it feels like the force was more restricted, more passive... perhaps..... on a leash?

Not true. We see Juno as a TIE pilot, long before she ever met Marek.

well obviously

I actually wouldn't mind seeing him (Starkiller, aka Galen Marek, aka The Apprentice ) in Imperial Assault, seeing as he could end up being a Universal Character for both Imperials and Rebellion. One miniature, two character cards. I think that'd be pretty cool, in fact.

That's a lot of running in circles. Actually intrigued as to how you did it.

Grenades. Lots of them.

I would much, much rather have Rahm Kota in the game. Like, much, much, much rather.

And a few more muches.

Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much. Much.

I'd like to see Starkiller in IA. I definitely like the idea of him having separate Deployment Cards for both Imperial and Rebel use.

His unique command card could be Force Repulse (2 actions: Roll 2 Red dice. Deal that much damage to each character within 4 spaces and push them 4 squares).

Starkiller? That has to be the absolutely worst name given to any character in any media. The Death Star gets a pass because it was named 40years ago, but Starkiller? Seriously?

Why not just "Defeat all characters on the board."

Starkiller is the most OP person in Star Wars and is only popular among those who don't know what the word 'balance' means.
